Жыл бұрынIf you truly want to get away from it all and love being on the water, fly fishing, snorkeling, diving. Xcalak is the place to be!
This small fishing village on the southern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula is one of the last "unspoiled" stretches of the Mexican Caribbean!
Tips:
-Bring pesos - there is no ATM here
-There is no cell phone service here
-You might get an internet signal from Belize (because you will be so close). But don't bet on it.
-There are a couple of small grocery stores but if you want something specific, pack a cooler and bring your favorites with you.

Wow we went here about 22 years ago. stayed in the thatched huts at costa de cocos. We hitched a ride here from our resort in Puerto Adventura with a fisherman that we met. He was there to catch a grand slam and was successful. We hopped on a little boat and went to the island of San Pedro Belize and stayed on a catamaran for the weekend which was owned by friends of ours that live there. We had to go to the Mexican immigration office which was this little shack on the beach in xcalak. Quite hilarious. To get back to our resort we took a little puddle jumper plane to Chetumal and then the bus. We ate at the Little restaurant at Costa de cocos as well. Thanks so much for reliving a very fond memory of ours and putting it in your video. We went to Puerto Morelos for a couple of weeks this past November and stayed at El Faro. Love your channel.
