Our Birth Story (scariest moment of my life)
This is our birth story. Births don't usually go to plan and ours was no different. The actual birth went fine.. but afterwards it turned in to a serious situation very quickly. Luckily, everyone is safe and healthy and we are able to introduce you all to Noah Skye Collins and start our own little family.

⭐ About Travel Beans:
Hello and welcome to our channel! We are Alex & Emma, a British couple who have been exploring the world together for over 10 years - from backpacking to vanlife:
2012/13: We both embarked on our own solo backpacking trips through Southeast Asia, where we would eventually meet at a hostel in the mountains of Thailand and begin traveling together. After a year and a half of backpacking around Southeast Asia & Australia, we returned home and to the corporate world!
2015: Travel Beans was born and we filmed our first videos on a road trip around Europe with friends! This was our biggest trip yet.. and you can go back and watch the entire adventure because we filmed ALL of it! This trip took us through Russia, Mongolia & China, on the longest railway journey in the world. Followed by highlights such as staying on a local island in the Maldives for a month, going on safari in Sri Lanka, couchsurfing & hitchhiking in Korea, seeing the snow monkeys in Japan, island hopping in the Philippines, trekking 60km through the centre of Myanmar, exploring the Indian Himalayas, and checking out some of the incredible US National Parks.
2016: Despite an unbelievably memorable year and a half of travels, which we were incredibly grateful to have had the privilege to experience.. we found ourselves in New York City, battling depression. At this point, we decided to go home and confront this problem head-on.
2017: After 6 tough months at home we decided to go away again, but this time with a goal in mind.. to turn travel into a lifestyle. We left the UK with just £500 in our bank account and a dream to make a continuous travel lifestyle happen! We both got online English teaching jobs to be able to fund our travels and to keep creating videos. We can't quite believe that our younger selves decided to take this plunge but we are so grateful they did as we are still on this journey today!
What now?
Over the years, we've discovered that we LOVE road trips and even decided to renovate our very own little VWT4 van into a campervan to be able to enjoy vanlife and spend more time on the road. We are now the proud owners of 2 awesome little campers - one based in the UK and one that we keep in the USA. You'll often find us using one of these vans to explore Europe and North America. If you enjoy this kind of content we'd recommend checking out our Italy Road Trip series, USA vanlife series and our Japan in a Tiny Van series as well as our UK vanlife content.
Our time spent overcoming depression has influenced our outlook on life dramatically! We are now traveling the world in search of what makes us happy. We love sharing the highs and lows of our trips through our videos and hope to spread a little positivity and light to all of the beautiful people who take the time to tune in and watch each week!

Take your time! We will be here! And congratulations again on your impossibly adorable little Noah. Like, seriously, how cute is that little guy?! We have three children, and while they are preteens/teenagers now, I still remember when they were born and how precious that newborn time is. They make a lot of squeaks and it’s awesome. Take care of yourselves and Noah. Not sleeping much can be hard so make sure you are getting rest whenever you can. Emma, we’re so grateful you are recovering and that you had such a wonderful medical team around you. All the best!

You made it look so peaceful, serene, loving, even during an emergency. Congrats a million times over! I won't share my whole birth story, but my kids are 20 and 16, and times have changed, but my experience in the American hospital was much different. I hemorrhage with my first because my uterus wouldn't contract, but I was able to be revived through transfusions. I was alone, split from my partner, my mother was deceased, and my friend, who was supposed to be my support, was violently ill with stomach flu. My ex-partners mother got there to be with me as quickly as she could. Aw, you two are just the sweetest couple. Love the three of you!

Welcome to this world, Noah! And congratulations, Beans! Yes, giving birth is rarely going on as we planned. It humbles us and prepares us for this endless and greatest journey of our life - the parenting journey. All other journeys get bleak in comparison. You got this. The love both of you share, the patience, and the goodness you show to each other - will help you on the way. You are going to laugh, cry, rejoice, and bless each other each and every day. A child is the greatest miracle we can receive. Be good stewards of this gift, because Noah deserves the best.

You both did great! My husband & I married 40yrs had 7 individual births, all are unique & none like another - loved every bit of it. I suggest you guys sleep when Noah sleeps. Emma ur body makes milk from WATER 💦 best to drink a full glass of water each time you nurse - 1/2 glass while Noah nurses on each side. Plus drink water in between nursing. Also, rotating Noah’s nursing positions each time he nurses & rotating last side he nursed as 1st side at his next meal will help tons from getting you sore or having nipple blisters. God bless all 3 of you.

Ahhhh so glad he arrived safely. I delivered five of mine safely and quickly with out any issues and then the 6th was a whole host of drama. (He’s still dramatic now 😅) nearly lost both of us, it was definitely the scariest moment. Make sure you look after yourself and rest as much as possible. It took me a good three months before I was feeling back to my normal self, so please don’t rush yourself. Enjoy the newborn bliss ❤

Did not expect to have a little window into Noah’s birth story. I think you did a great job filming the process. Emma welcome to motherhood. Giving birth for the first time is a transformative event in a women’s life. One child will fit nicely into the parent’s lifestyle so I know there will be loads of fun adventures to come. Congratulations to you both and best wishes from New Zealand

I am so relieved you came out of this traumatic time with smiles and laughter Emma. This birth takes me back 29 years ago this month to the birth of my son Jonathan where I was videoing in the adjoining room to the theatre. I am certain having Noah will bring so much joy and delights. My son saw more of my video camera than of me! After maternity leave I became a full-time father and it was the best time of my life caring for a baby until he was 3 years old. Enjoy those early years of his life together.

A few of my ex-pupils have gone on to be midwives and the work they do is truly amazing. My now strapping 24 yr old son, rushed into the world in 3 hrs, and I guess for us Dad’s we feel slightly helpless as our partners do all the work. Congratulations to both of you and welcome to the world Noah.

Congratulations to you both! Emma's jovial comment "turns out that's hard" had me having a good laugh. My wife popped our two out with quick labours under 15 mins each!! Noah looks a right cutie and I'm sure he will look back on this in years to come. Well done for documenting it as best as you could and again congrats to you all!
