@selkinshome Thank you for offering information with the viewer in mind rather than selfies on location. Thank you also for not treating the Yukon like it's just that thing on the way to seeing the ugly oil fields of Alaska. (The non oil field parts of Alaska are beautiful, but sadly the massive privately-owned and inaccessible oil fields are the destination, the start or end point of the PanAmerican highway and only access to the Arctic Ocean--if you can call a mandatory there-and-back bus tour "access.") I wish the PanAmerican had the alternate spiritual beginning or ending in Yukon & Northwest Territories--so people wanting to make the "PanAmerican" journey can choose Tuktoyaktuk and support a local indigenous community living in harmony with nature, and beautiful scenery and culture you can explore freely. I just watched a travel vlog from a lovely Texan couple (the adventures of A+K, if I recall correctly) and their experience of Tuktoyaktuk could not have been more different from what I saw in the Alaskan oil fields, which was just soul crushing. In Tuk it was like they'd be wandering around and the deputy mayor of Tuk would grab them to take them to see a pod of Beluga whales (no, autocorrect, I did not mean Belgian waffles...Although that does sound good.) Contrast that with an industrial nightmare, a war on nature, where the oilfield owners barely suffer you to take a strictly regulated bus to the water's edge and back. North America deserves a better choice to cap the PanAmerican journey, and after all, there's a choice at the southern end, a choice between Argentina and Chile, so why not the northern end as well? I've saved this to re watch and take notes, so much good info to chart a course through and around Yukon! Thanks!

Nice video! I spent almost my entire early childhood growing up in a cabin that my dad built off the Alaska Highway at Morley Bay, seven miles south of Teslin. That was back in the 1970s before the highway was paved. We left the Yukon in 1980 when I was 13 years old and I haven't been back since. Many of the roads and towns in the video I experienced via my dad's gold colored,1965 Chevy pick up. Your video took me down memory lane. Thanks for sharing!

I was in Yukon awhile back. The locals corrected me for calling it 'The Yukon.' "It's Yukon, not The Yukon." I argued that it was the Yukon Territories. No deal. "where you from?" "i'm from B.C." I replied. "Its not called The B.C.is it?

A friend of mine forwarded this video to me. He and his good friend did a lot of motorcycle riding in the same area. He said your video was an excelent example of what you'd see. My other interest was that my father had been stationed in Alaska in the Army. He used to talk so fondly about That part of the world. I feel like I got a taste of it in your video. Thanks so much.

My wife and I were in Chicken in 2018. Very neat place. We panned for gold in the chicken creek. We had dinner in the chicken creek cafe. Guess what was on the menu? CHICKEN!!! It is my favorite place that I've been in Ak. Probably will never get back to Ak. but we have great memories of our trip there. Round trip from southern Michigan was 11,465 miles. We were gone 8 weeks.

Fantastic video, Scott. I’m trying to do my homework in preparation for one or more trips through BC, and to the Yukon, NWT, with hopes of dropping my kayak into the Arctic Ocean. I say one or more trips, because the first will likely be with my truck (for kayak transport), but doing this on a GS may have to happen as well. Thank you for educating and inspiring us all. I hope you continue to travel and make additional videos, and for me, the more detail, and longer the video... parts 1-10... the better. Thank again! Kind regards,, Andres

From Watson Lake to Faro (250 miles.??) we saw no cars or trucks.........none.....zilch except for 3 trucks going the opposite direction. Stop in the middle of the road to take a pic......and the silence......wow.....not a cabin .......nothing in sight.....except for beautiful scenery...not even a jet's con trail in the sky. Thanks for the memories.
