there is a smoothie shop owned by an iraqi in my city in fl. a group of my friends and i went there and loved it. he didnt even make us pay until after we finished our snacks, and we ate outside. so we literally grabbed a bunch of smoothies and food and just... left to sit elsewhere lol. he had that much trust in us. this really endeared me to iraqi people

Baghdad, the capital of modern-day Iraq, has a rich history that dates back thousands of years. The city was founded in the 8th century and served as the capital of the Abbasid Caliphate, one of the most powerful Islamic empires in history. One of the most famous historical sites in Baghdad is the ancient city of Babylon, which was once the capital of the Babylonian Empire. This city is home to the ruins of the famous Hanging Gardens, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It is important to remember that Saddam Hussein's palace, which was built on the site of the ancient city of Babylon, is not a symbol of the city's history and heritage. Saddam Hussein was a brutal dictator who committed countless human rights abuses and atrocities during his rule. Glamorizing his palace only serves to glorify his oppressive regime. Instead, visitors to Baghdad should focus on exploring the city's rich history, culture, and art. There are many beautiful mosques, museums, and archaeological sites to visit, as well as vibrant markets and delicious cuisine to enjoy. By celebrating the true beauty and history of Baghdad, we can honor the memory of its past and present inhabitants, rather than glorifying a dictator.

One correction, all of Saddam’s palaces were not owned by him personally. They were/are all owned by the Iraqi government. His existing family, most of which are in the UAE, do not have legal claims to them.

Hey bud, as an Iraqi, I do not recommend driving yourself in Iraq lol. It gets kind of crazy. Pretty much the only danger you'll encounter is on the road. I hope someone from Basra will volunteer. I am from Mosul (10 hrs north)

What destroyed Iraq was America's war in 2003, Iran and its militias, as well as Israel, cooperating with America in 2003, and Shiite rule also destroyed Iraq and the people of Iraq. This is a fact, not a criticism.
