Love this bag. I haven't switched out of it for another since getting it. I ordered the tail too, it is an awesome option. Thanks for the video, people should not sleep on this bag.

Same for me. I carry 1-2 laptops so the entire laptop section is my laptop + tech pouch while the main compartment is for everything else. The beavertail also helps in a pinch - used it to carry home a large bag of oranges for lunar new year.

Great review thanks for all the good info. I love the orange interior. I have the AON evade 1.5 full. Do you think its worth upgrading to this?

Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! As much as I liked this one, for my size and organizational preferences I would still lean towards the evade 1.5 full between the two

Thank you for the review. I was interested in the bag and went into this with maybe too high expectations but this goes solidly in the "pass" category for me. The harness & straps look excellent, back panel looks excellent, and I always love high contrast interiors, but... that's as far as the pro's go for me. Lacking external water bottle pouches is a bummer, but a bigger bummer is just how the thing is arranged. To be frank without intending to be rude, I'm thoroughly confused by how the pouch arrangement came to be and came to be approved. It looks like it suffers the same issue of Aer's City Pack and Minaal Daily, where you have a lot of pouches that encroach on each other and fight over the same space. I think it can be agreed that it's generally best design practice for laptops to either have their own storage or be stored in a main compartment so other stuff that's not the laptop has room to not press against the laptop. The main compartment seems to lack capacity compared to other comparable and even "smaller"-liter'd bags (Aer CPP & Travel Pack, Bellroy Workpack & Backpack, Evergoods CHZ26, etc), owing to being fully clamshell BUT not quite bucket-like. I think they had to sacrifice some space in the main compartment for the thicc laptop compartment, which doesn't leave much of a lip to work with and really pack things in; based on your pouch choices, I feel like some 20-24L bags would pack out better. I don't doubt A19's build quality or material selection. They've proven themselves competent with physical construction of their bags. But man this layout is just such a miss for me compared to their own Whitley and Evade 1.5 Full, and at such a high cost by comparison. I appreciate the video Danny, keep up the good work!

Thank you for watching and for the support! Definitely some fair points, and I also prefer the layouts of the Whitley and evade backpacks

Great Video! How well does this compare to the Aer Travel Pack 3 and Osprey Farpoint?
@dannypacks
@dannypacks Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! Quality and Comfort wise I would say it’s on par with both of those bags (well padded and adjustable straps, plenty of breath ability) the materials might even be a little more rugged than the farpoint and it can hold an impressive amount but maybe not quite as much as the two you mentioned since it’s a little smaller at 30l vs 35 and 40 for the other 2 (it might be slightly larger than the travel pack 3 small tho).

The layout looks similar to heimplanet 28, how does this compare to the heimplanet 28 and the bellroy transit 28? Which one would be your pick?
@dannypacks
@dannypacks Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and good point! Definitely some similarities between the three, I think the spare camel is more comfortable, more durable than the other two and can hold more as it’s larger. It is heavier however and I like the more minimal look of the heimplanet / transit and some of the additional features those have (water bottle pocket on the heimplanet and the luggage passthrough as well). With all that said I might lean towards the heimplanet as it’s the one that would be most usable as an edc bag for my preferences while still working for minimal travel

If you had to pick between this or the Goruck GR2 robic material bag, which would you pick?

Thank you for watching! Really tough choice overall, I do think this one is more comfortable but I prefer the organizational layout and look of the gr2 so I’d probably lean towards that one

Interesting bag. I think it was a mistake to orient the compartments as they did. The main compartment should ride up to your back, as that is the compartment that will hold the heaviest items, and the admin oriented second compartment should have been on the outside.

Thank you for watching and that’s a fair point, their evade line is a little closer to that layout and I think it works a little better like that as well

Solid bag, but it lacks a lot of features that cheaper bags of similar quality have like bottom compression straps and molly on the side so you could add your own molle compatible water bottle pocket. A hard pass for me at such a high price point.
