Do you shop in these types of Luxury upscale supermarkets? Pretty much for me, I only go there for the cafe. There cakes are amazing. All made inhouse. If you want follow me on Telegram, I post a lot of photos of my day-to-day life outside of making videos: t.me/travellingwithrussell If you might like to buy me cake and a coffee, there are a couple of ways to support me in making more videos. 💳 (Russian Bank Deposit) Sberbank: +7 916-313-0982 💳 (Set up for Everyone) www.donationalerts.com/r/travelwithrusell 💳 (Set up for Everyone) boosty.to/travellingwithrussell/donate

I often buy there some ingredients hard to find in other shops: anchovies, some herbs, organic meat. Also ready-to-eat section is quite good and not that expensive. Wine selection from thier "wine bazaar" gives good choice for 600-700RUB per bottle - great for evening dinner.

@@ncsh12 Yes, I saw prices on some items in this shop lower than in most London supermarket. You'd never find good wine in London for $10. Or a large can of Turkey meat for £3. So I imagine some imported items in this shop will be expensive understandably, but this is not a shop where everything costs too much like in many UK supermarkets or places like Harrods.

Some years ago I’ve got a phone call from a couple of doctors who visited Russia, and they wanted very much to taste again a delicious Honey Cake (Medovik?) they used to eat while there. His wife told me that her husband ate that cake almost everyday. At that time I had a website and sure is, I had a photo of my Medovik. They ordered one and they simply loved it. At Christma’s time I got another order from them. They were trilled with my cake and I was simply elated! ❤ Oh… almost forgot to tell, I’m from Brazil, however a learned to make Honey Cake with a Russian lady, while leaving in United States.

It has nothing to do with how the most Russians live. This luxury supermarkets are present only in Moscow and a couple big cities. 90+ of Russians couldn't afford to buy in places like this. The most people out of big cities would be happy to earn 400$ per mounth. Sad, but true. Our government destroys Russia. But the Western media didn't talk about it, so do Russian media. This is incredible. This café inside Russian supermarket looks more posh and more lavish than any most expensive over-hyped bakery or patisserie in London. And this is just a supermarket which is a chain from what I know. It is a premium supermarket chain, but this looks way above anything you'd expect in London. Such quality and range of choice simply doesn't exist in London. And if you travel outside London we are not even talking about basic mid-range luxuries. You'd never see even basic varieties of good quality produce in most rural shops in the UK. I don't know why UK is still considered some kind of "prime" location. UK is definitely sub-prime compared to what we see here in Russia. And in terms of cleanliness of streets, public transport, public health care UK is probably somewhere below so called "third world" nowadays.

I mean the 400 ml Bottle Heinz Ketchup is 500 RUB so ~5,20€, that's 2x the price it costs here in Germany. That same for the Tabasco and a bottle HP is ~5-6€ here, that's 1200 RUB... those prices are insanely high. Considering an average income of ~70-75k RUB per month, that's like spending over 1/8th of your income on sauce....

@@DooMMasteR Prices for Ketchup in Russia are definitely many times lower than in Germany or in London. This is a fact. However, when you look at products which are EXCLUSIVELY imported from let's say USA and they travelled across Atlantic to land on that shelf - then yes, you should be prepared to pay for the USA version of Ketchup. Nothing wrong with that. In thousands of other Russian supermarkets you will have 50 varieties of Ketchup locally made and prices will be many times lower than anything in Germany or in London. This show is a very special kind of store designed to stock on items IMPORTED for other countries rather than locally produced. So hopefully you now better understanding. Look at those well behaved well dressed kids with their own little trolleys which keep them busy. And overall atmosphere in this store is so pleasant and inviting. You should see what's going on in London supermarkets. It is such horrific experience. I hate going shopping in London, the stores are small, crowded, dirty. Shelves are not well kept, very bad management, you see empty shelves often. There are literally shortages of basic essential vegetables very often. My local Sainsbury's had their fridges broken for 5 years now, so no ice creams of any kind. This Russian store store has so many choices of ice creams, I wish there was a store like this Russian Azbuka in London.
