I rode that train in 2013 for a special moonlight excursion from Rockaway Beach to Batterson near the Nehalem River. Beautiful sunset and then we rode back through the dark forest with the moon shining through the trees. If I remember we left at 7pm and came back to Rockaway at around 10:30pm. Amazing trip! I LOVE TRAINS!

On the former Southern Pacific's Tillamook Branch Line.

a couple of weeks ago I took a ride on The Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad from Rock Away Beach to Garibaldi I was vacationing in Oregon they used the diesel on that ride but I did n t really mind

It was actuly the port of tillamook bay railroad but then there were storms and the line got washed out and they scraped most of there sd9r's. It ran from the Tillamook air muzem to Hillsboro Oregon

The Whyte classification for steam locomotives indicates the wheel arrangement. This 2-6-2 type has two leading truck wheels, six driving wheels and two trailing truck wheels. It's pronounced "two-six-two", not "two-sixty-two". Otherwise good video though.

I think that day I was going to be student engineer, but fired instead, made no smoke all day, not knowing when you would be filming. Boy i look fat in that opening scene
