@@Travelwithchris I think the police thing was about him warning about the corrupt cops in the roads, they stop you for no reason and try to ask for bribes, the guy however did inappropriately ask for money, that's the lack of values and morale compass, every country has that level of people and sadly it's inevitable with the way people are raised and education.

My Dad did 20 years in the Army and was the same way, he gained a lot of weight and was depressed. He is now working for the VA taking care of veterans and is so much happier than he was in the Army. Thank you for your service! You are strong and you are worth it! =)

I returned from Sri Lanka after a 2 week trip about a day ago. As being half Sri Lankan, i suggest you should visit a children's orphanage. They would be so excited to see you as they don't see tourists at all come to them and they're always so happy and excited to meet new people. You would be amazed of the people and how much love they would show you. Get to see how lucky we are in Western society it makes you realise that. Thats my suggestion from past visits :)

But I’ve went through a divorce and have other things going on. But all I can do is look back at what I’ve made it through and I’m still here. Beautiful coastal side you passed was hit by tsunami waves 19 years back (2004). Coastal houses were completely destroyed and many people lost their lives. Gravestones you saw were those people's. They were burried on the same ground they used to live. You still can see ruins of damaged houses or repaired houses in the area.

Thank you Cris for the Sri Lanka video. Yes Sri Lanka is a beautiful island country. People are friendly, welcoming except maybe for some but it happen everywhere and we need to live with it. I was there 7 years ago and can’t imagine the development during these years. The tuk tuk experience seems quite fun and I have to rent one on my next visit. Hello there! I'm originally from a place called Jaffna, but now I live in Toronto, Canada. If you ever visit Sri Lanka, you might notice that there are a lot of tuk-tuks and motorcycles on the roads, and not so many cars. This is because the government puts a really high tax of 300% on cars, which makes them very expensive to buy. For example, a car that costs $20,000 in in canada or USA could cost almost $100,000 in Sri Lanka! This makes it very hard for people to afford cars, so they end up using other types of transportation instead. It's a bit sad because some politicians in Sri Lanka have been taking advantage of this situation and doing bad things, which only makes things worse for everyone.

I was depressed after breaking both my shoulders in a motorcycle accident i couldn't do much in the first months but im doing better now. I just thought about having all my limbs still and not being paralyzed could've been worse.

I paid us $ 80 fot that hotel 3 years ago for similar room. You got a super discount. Great video series. You have a great talent of giving the story very effective manner. Your videos are clear, detail and informative. Great job! Waiting for more videos from Sri Lanka please. My favourite places in SL are Singharaja rain forest, Hikkaduwa beach. Benthota beach, Ella, Kaudulla or Minneriya( largest elephant gathering in the world, I saw more than 300 elephants) , Polonnaruwa, Kandy, worlds end , Anuradhapura, Nuwara Eliya etc.
