In this video we will drive to find the famous Nine Arch bridge in Ella, Sri Lanka and while there we will meet this beautiful lady who sells coconuts outside of her home. While buying a coconut, I asked her to show me her home and she did! The view was amazing and I had plans on returning to talk with her more, but as you will see I was approached by a tuktuk driver who had hit my TukTuk and unfortunately wanted money from me.
That made me feel uncomfortable to return and so the video came to an end.

Feel really sorry about what you experiencing here today. I do understand those 3WL drivers in the Ella area are famous for overcharging visitors (Not only foreigners but also locals). Go to the police and make sure you make a complaint about this. Post whatever the updates... majority of Sri Lankans will be backing you on this. We do not support any such bad behavior.

@@roshinikahandawala2365 i have experienced bad behaviour of tuk tuk drivers in Ella first hand. It's like a Mafia. First they overcharge visitors. Then if anyone from outside Ella area comes they can only drop-off people. They are not allowed to pick up any hires. They charge anything from 200 rupees per km or up. Sometimes they ask 2500 rupees for just 6 km.

Chris you are an absolute gem of a guy man. Sad you ran into an unfortunate situation. This is a common thing with the Tuk Tuk drivers here. They never accept any fault on their part but expect damages from the other. But you handled it well and I'm glad those guys backed off without making too much of a fuss. Hey Chris, thanks for visiting Sri Lanka and your kind words about the country. I watched your video and it really sucks. Hope you will not let that spoil your wonderful trip to the island. As a Sri Lankan American, my family experienced a similar incident almost 30 years ago and I assume it has got so much worse now. These days, even if is the fault of the other driver and we don’t claim damages, we go to the nearest Police station and file an accident report. This can be a big hassle given the inefficiency of the system, but it covers us. Stay safe and enjoy your trip. Hope to see many more vids from you on Sri Lanka.

Hi Chris! Thank you for sharing this, I am also in Sri Lanka, I’ve come from the uk and it’s a shame to see the people here be treated so rudely as they’re literally the nicest people ever. My family are Sri lanken so it’s been so beautiful to see my routes! I’ve been enjoying watching all your videos while you’ve been here! How long are you here for, there’s some real beautiful places that I can recommend, I’m in midigama currently but hope to hear from you brother!
