I really liked Travis as a character. His development was really interesting to watch. I feel like there was a lot more they could have done with the character, and even if the actor wanted to leave the show, I wish we would have had more time with him in Season 3.

@@Eclipses915 yeah, if he hadn’t been bit they could say he somehow survived falling out of a helicopter and return later, like Morgan in the main show The Walking Dead. I mean if Palpatine can return why can’t Travis 😂

He's such a good actor. Totally justified, those guys were complete assholes and the way they killed Chris was awful. As a Dad I would have done the same

I completely forgot He was a school teacher. That makes me wish we saw more of him, his teacher status could have been an interesting plot point as the show went on Edit: definitely justified. The 2 kids were too ok with killing the “weak” or anyone who gets in their way of having fun. Like the farm guy. Plus they definitely would kill again without a second thought

With Chris: I was hoping they were going to show how a kid turns into one of the bad guys and perhaps a leader of bad guys as he gets older. I would have loved to see a storyline about that... but, they killed him off... and we didn't get to even " say goodbye " to Chris as it was so offscreen.

So on a similar point I always wanted / want a spinoff showing how Negan came to lead such a large group at the Sanctuary...we were all on ricks side because we grew on ricks side but imagine seeing it from there side ...would've been intresting

This is the type of thing I love about post apocalyptic or dystopian stories, choices need to be made. Would you stay who you were before and/or stick to a moral code or would you do what needs to be done to protect yourself and the ones you love? Everyone thinks they will choose one or the other but it comes to what you need to do and how far you are pushed. Travis was justified in killing those guys, he may not of had the whole story and really saw what happened but he's doing what he needs to so he can protect everyone else he cares about and possible people they may run into. In a way the two guys did die in the way they viewed the new world they were in, they had advantage in numbers but in the end the fittest came out on top.

As for the character of Chris, I didn’t much care for him. I sorta thought they may have been setting him up for a redemption arc, but Brandon and Derek brutally subverted my expectations.

Love your videos. I just finished the Rick and michonne show and was very disappointed. As a die hard fan that has read all of the comics and has all of the figurines - I thought it would be better.

Always found him more of a main character than Madison. Then Nick. Then Morgan. I never felt like Madison was the lead tbh. Would have much preffered Travis over her.

That's why Erickson killed him off earlier than planned. Lots of people kept saying Travis was the lead, so he kind of put y'all in your place lmao Erickson said he originally had plans to keep Cliff for season 3 and work around Avatar, but he ultimately decided against it to propel Madison further.

I've often wondered what happened to Travis after he jumped from the helicopter. I assuming he turned but what happened after that? They never mentioned him again after he jumped.

it's possible at that height his head trauma wouldn't have allowed reanimation - but we just don't know

I find it interesting that you didn't like Chris, I think he was a perfect example of where the show was meant to go with the title "Fear" where our protagonists weren't meant to he these amazing, "can do no wrong" people that season 4 and beyond turned them into, instead they were actually meant to be villains and be seen as villains objectively even though we would still root for them, I think every main character showed clear signs of this the first 3 seasons too. the uniqueness of it is why the first 3 seasons are my favorite show

eh idk, everytime push came to shove he did what no one else could do, the soldier shot Ofelia in season 1 and he beat him to death, Brandon killed his son in season 2 and he beat him to death, his quick thinking saved them from Troy's experiments in season 3, but you make a good point

Having morals and a soul in that world is not a weakness. The weakness comes from being weak willed and not strong enough (physical/mentally) to get the job done, the weakness is choosing to kill over a pardon when the latter will give you a true allies and friends. If Rick didn't have morals or a soul, TWD would have ended with everyone dead because he chose to kill everyone that crossed his path, not befriend those who were good, which would have ended with his death as well very early. If I had a lollypop, I'd give it to a scared child, that doesn't mean I'd let people push me or others around, those people would have my full resources aimed at them, until their stronghold is turned to ash and those responsible have their zombiefied head on pikes lining the ashes, it might be the UK but I'd have enough resources to do this, I'd probably have Beale keeping a file on me as a result. True strength is knowing when to give and when to take.

Very thorough critique of a character. His dark & destructive traits are overkill resulting from, in my opinion, parents who worries too darn much about their child's "feelings"!!! Teaching our children self-redpect for oneself & all others. Self-preservation isn't "bad" ---it is what IS....
