I listen to this song many mornings to pick me up. Been through a lot. CML leukemia, heart attack with stents, stroke and a Tia they then gave me a pacemaker. This all started at age 44. So I have to stay strong for my wife, kids 11 grandchildren, and my 88 year old Mom. So songs like this and prayers help me get the days started. Am 60 now and doing well. So I am thankful. ;)

I don't know, that's always a good question. I think henunderstands his talents because he has fought hard with "the industry" over the years. Something driving that recognition has got to be that the fans and the music are more important than money. It's a rare talent that someone can be on stage with just a guitar and their voice and give people chills..

His smile and reaction to the crowd makes him so beloved. There are very few stars I care anything about. Even some that I like their music. But I love Travis Tritt. He's just different, in a great kind of way. He is genuine. Most are only there for the money and fame.

What a great song! I had never really paid much attention to Travis Tritt before today and now I’m a fan. I heard him tell the story about how this song was written during an interview on Louder With Crowder and it was maybe the best interview I’ve ever seen or heard. I knew I would be a fan even before I listened to this song because I like what it’s about. I like Travis Tritt as a person. I like his attitude and what he had to say about life and about this song. It was written by a guy who was in intense pain and laying flat on his back on the floor. He opened his eyes and saw a ray of sunshine coming through the window and started thinking about how great it was to be alive even though he was in such agony. The attitude of thankfulness and hope resonates with me. Maybe I’ll start doing what he says other people do. Listen to this song as soon as I wake up just to put me in the right frame of mind for the day ahead.

It’s good to be reminded of the things that make life worth living even though it’s not always easy. I had to re-read my own comment to see what I had said that made it sound like I thought Travis Tritt had written that song. I would have edited it if I thought it was misleading but I don’t think it was. LZA could have mentioned that Daryll Scott wrote the song without calling me or Travis Tritt a liar. He could have answered me and clarified what he thought couldn’t be true. I could have respected him giving more information about the song and the man who wrote it but he chose to do a hit and run instead. I really can’t respect that. I stand by what I said and I appreciate your comments. Thanks again. Jeff

This song here I thought would help my family understand, sent it to them. I drove to see Travis in Asheville and was lucky enough to be in Knoxville to see him as well. I got no response from my supposed family, I tried. Done with that. Sometime the olive branch doesn't work. But Travis is delicious.
