Travis are a Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 1990, composed of Fran Healy (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Dougie Payne (bass guitar, backing vocals), Andy Dunlop (lead guitar, banjo, backing vocals) and Neil Primrose (drums, percussion). The band's name comes from the character Travis Henderson (played by Harry Dean Stanton) from the film Paris, Texas (1984).

I remember as a kid, my dad used to always play this song in his car. I’ve been trying to find it for the longest time. Didn’t remember a single word but remembered the tune. Until today when I had to hum the tune and someone guessed it. Ah man, it brought back memories from 22 years ago 🥹

The moment that machine starts to beep, i get such a swell of emotion. When it builds and sustains itself, it almost makes me cry my eyes out. I have no idea why I feel so connected to this song, if it's pure nostalgia or something else, deeper in me. This song is one of the most precious pieces of music to me. I will listen to it forever.

It’s a combination of the build up of tension in the song and what’s going on in the video that releases all kinds of emotion and fantastic special effects from that moment onwards. I think it’s one of the most well done music videos of all time.

This song was always thought provoking to me and still is. 20 years ago when I heard this I was 20 and thought that it was very relatable and kind of a song for daydreamers. Now at 40 I look at it and think if you want your grass green and a life of harmony just water your own grass and take care of what is within your control in a positive loving way so that it may project and be accepted by the community you create.

This band is awesome, their music is great ! To all the people who wonders why the view of Travis' songs is so low while nowadays trash music is so popular, I LIKE IT THAT WAY. My dear older brother passed away September of 2005 and it was devastating for all of us! But in my heart, I know God brought him home but in my mind, it's easier to believe that he was abducted by aliens! That way, I can at least have a glimmer of hope that one day, he will be returned to his family! This song not only reminds me of him, but a great comfort, as well!

I first heard this song while on active duty. I liked it so much that I took the leap and bought the CD. It turned out, I got lucky because the whole thing is great. Still, this is my favorite song from it, even after 20 years. Travis is definitely underrated.

Best thing ever: Learn those beautiful jangling guitar chords, turn up the song, turn down the lights, lay back on the sofa, feet up, eyes closed, guitar in your lap, and just riff through on endless loop (and maybe sing along).

I've always felt that this was someone looking down from heaven or whereever they are every time I watch this video or listen to this song, I just never knew unfortunately one day it was going to be my youngest brother who tragically passed away in tragic circumstances 2021. I will miss him forever 💔

This album came out in 2001 at a time when I was at the crossroads of my life. I was 30 years old and lost in life, lost in myself. Little did I know then that I made the best decision ever to move away from my hometown to test myself, my resilience, my intelligence, my abilities... Then, slowly but surely things fell into place for me. I am now 53, a professional, married to a wonderful man, a home owner with two beautiful dogs and a few genuine friends. I am still listening to Travis today and this song is a particular favorite for many reasons. I got to see them twice: Dublin 2018 and Edinburgh 2022. Anyway, my point is, never miss an opportunity to change your situation. If it feels right, it is, trust me. Keep listening ❤

Growing up as a kid in england in the 90s it was impossible not to hear Travis on the radio. I love them. But they never hit the long lasting heights of some other bands. So it's to my surprise that I see alot of Spanish speaking people commenting on here. Where Travis do well in Latin America? Is everyone commenting in their mid 30s like me.
