Lyrics:
I want to see what people saw,
I want to feel like I felt before
I'd like to see the kingdom come
I want to feel forever young
I want to sing
To sing my song
I want to live in a world where I belong
I want to live
I will survive
And I believe that it won't be very long
If we turn, turn,
Turn, turn, turn
Turn, turn, turn
If we turn, turn,
Turn, turn, turn
Then we might learn, learn
So where's the stars
Up in the sky
And what's the moon
A big balloon
We'll never know unless we grow
There's so much world outside the door
I want to sing
To sing my song
I want to live in a World where I'll be strong
I want to live
I will survive
And I believe that it won't be very long
If we turn, turn,
turn, turn, turn
turn turn turn
If we turn, turn,
turn, turn, turn
Then we might learn, learn
We've got to turn, we've got to turn
If we turn, turn,
turn, turn, turn
turn, turn, turn
If we turn, turn,
turn, turn, turn
Then we might learn, Learn to turn

Yeah, gush over the song if you like, fine, but for every one of these excellent tunes, there were 20 Limp Bizkits, Creeds, Sugar Rays, Sisqos, and Smash Mouths. The decade wasn't some magical time for music... you're just engaging in nostalgia porn.

This song starts out with a discussion about "chi" (or energy.) Message of the video is simple: Careful what and who you invest your energy in, especially if you are trying to prove a point to someone else or for money. Use your energy wisely as someday you will need it to help yourself or someone else and before you realise it, you are burnt out. In the video we see his friends come and go, the girl comes and goes, money comes and goes - all that is left is your chi. And when he is faced with a situation where he needs to help someone else, an actual worthwhile pursuit, he is unable to.

I think the best way to sum up this song is its like life. You set a goal for yourself. Meet a girl, but she leaves (better or for worse). You succeed at by everyone else’s standards except for your own that you set out. Your friends leave because you don’t listen to their advice. And then after you continue with your life trying to achieve what you are not sure of a much bigger problem that is more than you comes up but you have no way to stop it because your burned out already.

At least both you and I can look back n think "I was bloody there " bro, it's like my parents they talk about 60s music , which by the way I absolute love n quite possibly wouldn't have bands like travis without that era however, it simply was an era mate never see it again music is being lost in rap, dance chart music , only one that's good the now in my opinion in ed Sheeran and Lewis capaldi which are no where near the label of they guys man...they dont have bands for a start (well proper initiated band) especially ed Sheeran he plays a whole set with his pedal thingy

The first Indie band that I really became obsessed with!! I (a little girl from south east london) remember telling my school friends at the time that I liked Travis. I was laughed @. I think of the bands/musicians (if you will) they were ranting & raving about. Most have not been heard of/spoken of for at least nearly 2 decades kmt. Reminds me of Thom Yorke vocally in the chorus.. very early Radiohead influence.

I mourn my youth you know i wasted my teenage years 15 yrs old to 19yrs On hard drugs i remember this song Giving me strength at that time. Unfortunately them days have never left me mentally i wish i never ever touched even a drink. Keep strong I'm 20yrs off that shit i know alot of drug addiction is not being strong enough to cope with trauma but you can turn it around anytime you gotta fuck drugs they destroy lives and not just our own lives . Choose life x

In the second or third verse he actually belts it out like he is singing to a festival crowd. Its amazing. The mastering on these tracks (The Man Who) is out of this world.

*Travis - Turn* I want to see what people saw I want to feel like I felt before I want to see the kingdom come I want to feel forever young I want to sing To sing my song I want to live in a world where I belong I want to live I will survive And I believe that it won't be very long If we turn, turn, turn, turn, turn Then we might learn So where's the stars? Up in the sky And what's the moon? A big balloon We'll never know unless we grow There's so much world outside the door I want to sing To sing my song I want to live in a world where I'll be strong I want to live I will survive And I believe that it won't be very long If we turn, turn, turn, turn And if we turn, turn, turn, turn Then we might learn Turn, turn, turn, turn Turn, turn, turn And if we turn, turn, turn, turn Then we might learn Learn to turn

I was 8 when this song came out several years later and i'm still obsessed with this band and their music. I remember being laughed at by my primary school friend when I said I liked this song and the band. Looking back, if I say so myself I had awesome taste in music.

When I was in primary school, I was made to feel like a total outcast when I said I like this song and this band. 16years later I have to applaud my superb and sophisticated music taste. Moral of the story: Other peoples opinions are non-significant particularly where music preference is concerned.
