Love the vintage RC's. Reminds me of my first Tamiya Falcon kit from the mid to late 80's. Loved that you included the Monster buggy promo video..I love the Nostalgia of the vintage RC's. Whether it be Gas, Nitro, or electric.. RC technology has come a long way.. But the vintage RC's have sonething the new ones never will. It's like parking a 69 Camaro SS next to a modern day SS Camaro..yes the late model is cool..way faster, all the modern comforts.. But it will never have what the 69 has. You don't get the same feeling when you see a modern Camaro as you do when you see a 1st Gen Camaro passing you on the street.. It's the same with RC's, yea the modern RC's are cool AF but they don't give you the same feeling as a vintage RC vehicle does.. Brings us back to our childhood and the Golden years of RC. NWO! Keep making the awesome vids bro.. Love your channel!

These were sold here as Graupner Gepard, and i always wanted one but couldn't afford it back then. Awesome buggy! It was the only 1/5 scale with dish wheels and buggy style front ribbed tires until the HPI Baja came along. Those coated were only available on competition buggies and Traxxas just put them on their RTR models. Love it! And those carbon/glass fiber shocktowers was something nobody did too! Pure attention to detail and quality! Love the box style, it reminds me of my Kyosho Baja Body! It's great to finally see one running :D They are very rare, take good care of that gem! Yup, I'm sitting in my shop, looking up at my probably about 2000 dollar mistake. I'll never part with my monster buggy, I just never got to the bottom of the transmission issue it had. If there is a network of parts, I'd love to know. The clutch bell constantly snapped it's shaft, causing catastrophic damage to the rest of the case. My hobby shop was suprised by this, Traxxas sent them a complete replacement and I used it very little and didn't rip too much to keep her happy. Well years later it happens again, now it's been many years since discontinued. So it's been on the shelf for the last 15 years or so now.

Great find Hybrid! I'm not surprised Traxxas partnered with Zenoah engines. I mean, ya they make all their own nitros, but on the electric side, they have a partnership with Castle. What a friggin score tho, I want one. I would probably trade my 5T for one.😁

The engine is actually a zenoah G2D engine, the g230rc engine was produced later and makes more power than the g2d.

Graupner was seling Monster Buggy with new name - Graupner Gepard 1/5. They also offered rebranded Nitro Buggies and Nitro Streets in Europe. These cars are the same inside, only bodies were made by Graupner.

Look into the the primal dragster fuel tank. It doesn’t have a gas cap. It’s filled with an external pump. They have crank and electric powered pumps. There are also ways to hook those fill pumps to any tank so if something fits and the cap isn’t in the right spot you can use that external pump.
