The Slash 4X4 Ultimate is finally complete and ready for its first test drive. Today we are reviewing the Slash, and to join us is the Traxxas Rustler 4X4 VXL. Before the review we had replaced the RPM sensor wire, the ESC fan, and upgraded the battery hold down tray. During the end of the review, the slipper clutch came out of adjustment. It will be replaced with a new slipper clutch or possibly a center differential. We hope you enjoyed the video, please feel free to ask any questions.
The Slash was running on a Traxxas 3s LiPo

Definitely a fan of the Slash Ultimate, it was my first RC rig when I took the plunge! I like the 2wd vxl to! You guys have a great channel! subbed.

I’ll turn if off during high speed runs, or bashing. Course racing, or messing around off-road I’ll turn it back on.

My guess is the servo isn't tough or quick enough for the rustlers' big tires for the TSM to be as effective as the Slash. Look how big the inner tires get ballooning, that's a lot of rotating mass to compensate for with a stock servo. I can't believe how effective the slash with TSM is, I have a nitro slash and never used it I 'm definitely going to give it a try now. 2wd but still. If TSM can do it, then that means it's possible to drive it like that yourself correct?

TSM helps out the 2wd more than the 4x4. The BANDIT VXL on dirt handles very nice for being 2wd. So I would imagine the 2wd slash handling very nice with TSM.

That's actually the opposite of what I thought. I'm just waiting for some tires, and I will give it a try, thanks for the info. I'm considering a 4wd electric and I'm pretty torn between the Ultimate and the Losi Tenacity. I have a slash already, so it makes more sense to get the ultimate because they could share some stuff and familiarity, But the Losi just seems like a lot more quality parts and the fact that you can tune the diffs is a real plus. At the end of the day, I'm not a racer so I guess as long as it's fun, then I will be happy either way.@@redbanditracing
