Next Up for Top Rank Boxing, WBC/IBF unified light heavyweight world champion Artur Beterbiev moved to Montreal nearly a decade ago to embark on his professional journey following a pair of Olympic berths for his native Russia. Sixteen fights into his career, he will return to his adopted hometown for the first time as a world champion.
Beterbiev, boxing’s only world champion with a 100 percent knockout rate, will defend his world titles against WBC No. 1 contender and 2012 U.S. Olympian Marcus Browne on Friday Dec. 17 at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
#BeterbievBrowne will headline a loaded world title tripleheader streaming live and exclusively in the United States on ESPN+.

Arthur is very educated and respectful guy. I only saw his videos in Russian where he helps people in the gym, gives advice, makes jokes. Very likeable.

Don't underestimate Artur's technical ability. He may be an aggressive fighter and hit hard, but he has a very impressive amateur record and knows his stuff.

Beterbiev is all business, how he did Gvodzyk who put Adonis Stevenson in a coma was jaw-dropping cause Gvozdyk was really impressive ... that fight was so technically satisfying, Beterbiev showcased his abilities with wicked power and relentless stamina, he remained patient, applying calculative pressure to set up shots. The scariest thing is that he never telegraphs his power shots, which is destructive because within the blink of an eye he can throw a punch with so much force that can end you, all while mandhandling you like a rag doll ... he's a fucking wrecking ball with a stellar amateur record who's bound for greatness and anyone overlooking this man will be made to look like a fool sooner or later.

So many responses saying he got dropped. It was a flash knockdown, he was never hurt, he didn't take the fight seriously. Did you see him get dropped against Gvozdyk an elite fighter who retired Adonis stevenson ? Those were monster shots gvozdyk threw, walked him down and KO Gvozdyk. Gvozdyk retired after this fight. I'm telling you if any fighter thinks he is easy cause he got dropped, that fighter is going to be retired. Dude is a straight savage.

They wanted to foight, but changed their minds to canelo. They knew they can't afford to lose first before canelo. Bivol is young he got plenty of time, but is not the case for artur, he gotta foight canelo first before bivol. Canelo is the real 🦆er, he ducks charlo, boo boo, benavidez, artur, bivol by running away to cruiser weight to foight guys people don't know their names, faces, don't care, don't have big promoters behind them, to gain massive massive A-side position so he could dictate his opponents what to do, you want mooney? You wanna foight me? Okay cool, I tell you what to do, in what round I will knock you out and how. I don't have to get real blood test, just gimmick as usual, but you have to, you must be clean af💯, if I satisfy with the result, there will be bonus for you. Do you understand me? Do we have a deal? Okay deal 🤝. It's also why boo boo, charlo, benavidez don't foight each other first, they can't afford to lose before foighting canelo. They need to have strong bargaining position in the negotiation table to decide the revenue split % with team canelo

@james Deer Arthur beterbiev is 175 and so is Bivol the two best there.. 160 is Andrade, Charlo , GGG is on the way out. Canelo can't make 154 or 160. He said he struggled to stay at 168. But he is going for Makumba at 185. But doesn't want to face the real champion at cruiserweight.

@@MetalzxAngel Makabu is a real Champion at cruiserweight, he has two loses his last was in his first World title shot in 2016. If Makabu isn't a real Champion no one is at cruiserweight as Usyk vacated all the belts. Makabu ain't a bum he's the older brother of Martin Bakole.

@@abdulr2397 usyk is willing to come back down and face canelo yet no one talks about that. Macumba is not the real champion tho. There is Briedis, Dorticos, glowacki, Okolie, huck. At cruiserweight. Macumba is not even a good boxer he won't beat canelo you know it and I know it. There is going to be some secret Claus or some sketchy contract where he can't fully hydrate.

This should be good. Browne's only loss is to a juiced up Pascal. Hopefully see a unification with winner of Joe Smith and Johnson after. PS his English has gotten so much better, good to see Top Rank finally promoting him properly, get to see more of his personality. 👏

It should be good and Browne should pose him some problems stylistically and Beterbiev turns 37 next month and is on the slide so if Browne is ever going to beat him this is the best time for him to do so. But Browne clearly lost to Radivoje Kalajdzic too in what was a disgraceful robbery.
