I was born August of 1995 in Ohio. I now live in North Carolina. I am a mechanical engineering for a tire company and I have been a professional open-format club / mobile DJ since 2012. Did your TSS garnish scratch really easily? Just bought one and took three plastic wrap off of it and I wiped it down with my shirt and you can see swrils marks already on it. I bought it from the same place.

Thanks for your help. I put 2 washers behind the screw and everything works great. Sometimes folks have difficulty holding the washers and trying to insert the screw. I find if you put a little vaseline on the washers it holds them together. Same with putting the washers on the sensor. Put a little vaseline on the back of the sensor and it holds the washers in place while you insert the screw. Very happy with your presentation and the completed grill.

Yea, I did the comparison when buying the Pro Grille for my 2020 SR5 DCSB, The Pro grille from Overland Depot (w/ sensor garnish and letters already mounted and installed) about $200 Vs. The Toyota brand Pro grill from the factory $400! - It's a no brainer! Thanks for the video! About to bang this project out tmrw!

I like the original grill better . The dark silver grill goes nicely witn the gray truck. I'm not into chrome, but the round Toyota symbol in the original grill reminds me of the Hi Lux, which I really like.

Here’s a tip to remove those plastic zip tie clips that hold the wire harness. I use a small pick and push the tooth on the zip tie away to loosen it and wiggle the wire harness.

I just installed the same grill from Toyota pro shop. The washer I used for the radar sensor was 0.038 thickness. Drove with cruise control for several miles at different speeds and distance settings. No issues with radar kicking off or sensor warnings so far.

Nice, but I liked the OEM better. Around here everyone & their brother has a heritage grill on their 2019 or older. I also didn't care for the chrome on my 2020 taillights and replaced with pro ones.

Btw, Your Lift is PERFECT - It is not too high, or low, it's just right! That is the exact same one I want to put on my SR5 (with some A/T tires as well) - How is ride quality with the lift and tires? How much worse MPG do you get? I am avg around 16-20 MPG, depending on where I am going....Edit: Want to ask you on the lift, did you just get the Strut Spacers and the N3 shocks? I am curious as I am not sure what the other two drop down options are (Lifted Struts, Vertex adj coil overs??) If you don't mind answering, thanks and have a great holiday!

The push lock washers have to be pushed all the way on the pins of the TSS garnish, that will angle the TSS garnish, the garnish is not glass by the way it is plastic. The garnish is not supposed to be flush on the grille. Use a 10mm deep well socket to push the two lock washers all the way down on the garnish pins. You may need to use a hammer to seat the two lock washers all the way onto the two plastic pins.

There is an option when ordering to get the garnish. You may need some washers to adjust the sensor which are not included

Hey Rick just installed this Grill and used one washer. So far it's working good. One question the PCS sensor sometimes says off and it goes away after a while. Have you experienced something like this after the new grill install?

Hey great video! Installed mine and tried using 2 washers and was getting pcs error. Took one out and it still kicks on once in a while. How thick of a washer did you use? Mine are about 1/16 of an inch each or less

Have you play with it. Got to get the angle just right. Sensor has to be parallel with the glass.

Does your tss still work? I’ve gotten light to not appear on my screen but I haven’t noticed it gone off I’ve even increased sensitivity to high and still haven’t heard anything

Someone’s undoubtedly already said it, but doing OEM now and it does not have the 8 screw mounts either. Only difference I see is the “TOYOTA” emblem is all one piece with the grill - it doesn’t screw on. The letter covers do appear to clip in though.

Does adding this grill void any warranties? I’m trying to buy a new truck and have the dealer add this grill. They said the sensors between the pro and off road are incompatible and they said it would be a big liability issue. Any issues I should know about or should I just do it after market

Hey man got a question...I installed my outter sensor plate but the top two pins that are circular don’t go in enough to use the “lock washers” also when I press it in all the way the top is in more than the bottom messing up the angle. I did the washer trick on the inside sensor like you. But I’m going to leave my outter sensor plate top two not pushed in all the way to try and keep those angles lined up. I hope you followed all that. Any advice or insight?

Thats how I had to do mine two. The locking washers are barely on the pins. Otherwise it angles it up

Removed the screw and also loosened the other two bolts. Slid the washer in the gap retightened all the bolts

Just installed mine today, exact same grill (maybe same manufacturer), but I noticed that the third screw on the top don’t actually screw at all, it stays loose, so I stored and will test the performance tomorrow in a camping trip. Did you had any issues with that?

Hello Rick , great video. I just became a first time Tacoma owner last week. Bought a SR 4x4 Silver Sky Metallic. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but I love the truck. My question is, the letters on the new grill, are they the same as the Cement color or are they somewhat of a silver in actual color. I am wondering if there is way to modify the letters in other colors( Ex. Overlay style) If the letters are of a silver, that will be perfect for my truck. I will be changing out the grill soon. Will be purchasing it from the place you bought yours. Thank you.

They are like a flat silver. But as I show in the video the letters are a seprate piece of the grill that you screw on. So you can paint them whatever color you want.

@@TacoRick I’m looking at nitto grapplers G2 285/70/17 and when I as several dealers one will as how many ply were I found out E rated tire is 10 ply then there’s a 6 ply tire and 4 ply. I know it’s to do with side wall of the tire I’m not a off rd guy any way some people say 10 ply E rated is over kill then some say there the tire they are the heavy 62lb 80 psi we’re D tire is mid 50s 45 psi. Just curious if you know what yours were. I remember you did about gas weight big tires thanks

How bad will it be if I run this grille with a sensor but without the ugly garnish ? I know it will turn off when it gets wet but will I ruin the sensor if I don’t use the garnish ?

It won't work. The garnish is part of the sensor system.

I have a 2016 and a 2019 tacoma. The 16 came from the dealer with all the trd accessories and kind of wanna swap them out on my 19. The only problem is the grille, I wanna know if it has given you any problems at all. My 16 doesn't have te sensor so I don't have to worry about it but if I swap it to the 19 I need to figure that out.

We apologize that the grill took so long to get to you and that customer service wasn’t friendly. We have since had a major overhaul in the company so shipping is much quicker and customer service is much better now

I understand your point about leaning the sensor back with a washer, but shouldn't the washer be on the *front* side of the sensor?

It was random washers I had laying down. From talking with others its not the same for everyone. Trial and error unfortunately

The pro grill is is 100 times better than the other trims. I will be doing this too at some point. But since this is trivial and serves no purpose. It will be a minute. But this just look so much cleaner and you can black out the Toyota letters. I too am very anti chrome. It doesn’t belong on a truck specifically at least

Just bought same grill on my 2020....same problem!!! Ugg.. damn camera mount they recommend from TV doesn’t fit either!!! Wish I had bought all from TV!!! Not happy and no contact support number! Guy at taco vinyl was very helpful but end of day shitty experience spending around $250....

Jus ordered the grill from your link exactly how thick was the washer you used gonna pick one up and have it ready

It is different from truck to truck. My buddies all have had different amounts. Trial and error

Bought my grille off another website and the letters came different than yours. I haven’t had problems with the sensor & I didn’t need to install any washers
