i dont have much investment in either of these lads, but i can definitely appreciate how good optimus is on his own merits. my problem is that i really like barricade and he’s the clunky wonky one, so ive sort of picked the short straw around here.

Oh finally, a newer mainline figure I got BEFORE the review! I feel the exat same way about him, but as a fan of WFC, and FOC too (Man I wish I knew what happened to my FOC prime one day his arm came off and then I couldn't find it, then the toy itself buggered off, too. What I get for being 15 and caring less about my toys, I guess!) But this prime, while not perfect by any measure, makes me happy. I really like all of them, even if Barricade is a bit wonky, and I'm glad I have them. This time, for the Gamer Edition, I will be collecting all of the SS figures, rather than grabbing what interests me. I grew up with these designs, and play the games occasionally still. It’s a tragedy that a bot this swole can’t look good pulling a classic double bicep pose 💪. However a nice bicep and back pose will do just fine, other than Prime’s head being eclipsed by his own gargantuan traps.

Yea, you're right, I am beyond help. I like it, I sorta want it, but for some reason, I want my first Optimus to be the Legacy Armada one. If they decided to give this a nemesis repaint, tho, it would be enough of a loophole for me to get it.

This Prime is well PRIME, Great figure that I was happy to get. Haven't heard of any QC issues on this version, and mine doesn't. Well worth your while picking up.

I never played the game and I hate the hollow parts, but this figure looks really good. I love the ax and the added feature of a removable matrix. If this had some die cast parts and a better rear end it would be great.

This figure is really fun, but gap fillers for the thighs and arms are a must to finish him up.

I have the original of both of those, and while I am definitely *not* getting the Bumblebee (he looks like they gave him a beer belly), I may or may not consider getting the Prime. The "Hey! Look! These are, like, totally my hands guys!" thing he has at the back of vehicle mode is a turn-off, but in-hand it might not be any worse than the "Dude! My feet are, like, totally just sitting there!" thing that the Fall of Cybertron Prime had, so we'll see.

i'm going back and forth on this toy, though if the materials are decent overall, then that might just sell me in time for the holidays. i love the old 2010 deluxe design to bits, but i never liked his materials (though to their credit it took until last year for his plastic to break away, from the slot on his oft-stressed forearms).

It's a nifty figure, but I haven't played the game (or even bought a new game or console in about a decade and a half), so I've got no attachment to it.

Do you have the other WFC Gamer Series figs, Gavin? Not a fan of many other reviewers and I rate your opinions than my own because I'm very self conscious

i got the barricade from this line and it's pretty much the same boat; nice look with annoyingly obvious weakness that are almost archaic, feeling like a toy from 2008 or so. i hate the gun arm gimmick too, it doesn't look good on any of them.

Bumblebee's sword looks like a Bayverse Sword of Omens. Also, I might be the weirdo who likes the original WfC Optimus better than this one.

I find the whole "GAMER EDITION" thing really condescending. Most of the characters in it already have superior toys, the one who doesn't looks embarrassingly mediocre, and the less said about Bumblebee the better. It's like they went "Okay, FINE! Here's your bloody game things!" and gave it all the love of a drunk substitute teacher.
