I have personally owned a set of AT Warden II’s that look like the BFG KO’s. I had the 275/65/20 on my 2020 ram 1500 4x4. I drove them from Miami to Atlanta, and even Nashville. They were my daily driving tires. The truck looked awesome with them and the traction was fantastic. The only complaint I have with them and I knew this would happen was that they weigh a lot more than stock tires (275/55/20) and my fuel economy went down 2mpg on average. What I’ll do moving forward is have a set of treadwright tires for off-road use and then a set of tires more appropriate for street use but still an all terrain that are light.

Hey Matt, hope all is well and thank you for sharing your expertise with us all. Just watched your August 24, 2020 with the highway/terrain and you make specific mention of the Continental on Suburban's, Tahoe's, other larger "troop transports". After years of faithful service here in New England I bid a solemn farewell to my trusty F250 Crew and now in a Suburban 2500 "bling bus" (yea I know, but I went down swingin' LOL). I'll need new skins for inspection next month so I'm doing my research early. Your vid was apparently on the heels of a pretty snotty '20 winter down there which is why I'm really interested in your mention of performance with snow & frozen slush as it looks like state and municipal snow removal is about the same as it is up here. These Goodyears were on it when I bought it and well . . . "That's all I have to say about that". Predictions for this season from the Atlantic corridor on up are less than forgiving at best so I'll need a real game winner to roll on especially in tow with the horses and other various trailers. Thoughts would be appreciated . . .

@@CampusautoCo I have a set of the axiom on our Excursion and it looks way better in person. They are awesome. I have the mud tires in 37's on my Jeep for the last 2.5 years with over 45k miles on them. I've been running treadwright tires on all my trucks and Jeeps for over 10 years. I will never run anything else.

Hi. I enjoy your videos and the information shared. What would you recommend for an all terrain tire? I have a 2022 silverado custom. I want something quiet but looks aggressive. I don't really plan on off-road driving but like the look of the all terrain tire.

They have a "winter kedge" option on their tires that adds more siping, wish I knew which was in the video. They also have "standard" and "premier wear" options. These options don't cost much more at all. I would love to talk to someone who has put 50K on them. Does the sidewall withstand sharp rocks? Can it take a nail? What pressure do you run?

@dmanmb
@dmanmb 2 жыл бұрын
Since they don’t respond to comments, the load numbers: yours is 112t. 112 is weight. The higher the number, the more weight the tire can hold. T is speed rating. The further in the alphabet you go, the faster the tire is rated to go.

What is the difference in a recycled tire and a recap? I see recaps come apart and laying in the road pretty often, and you cannot run recaps on steer tires, only drive and trailer tires
@blainehartley9157
@blainehartley9157 Жыл бұрын
Recap is pretty much what the name implies….they glue a tread cap to the existing tire…but it’s the tread cap section only…..REMOLD is the entire tire being buffed down to the steel/nylon plies and put into a mold machine and rubber is injected back into the entire tire from bead to bead….this way you have a more uniform tire that is not likely to separate like recaps do….there is a video on treadwright web page showing how they do it

You just don't know how much abuse and bruising the old carcass had endured before being given a coat and tread molding. It's best to used as a farm tire at low-speed and low cost. I prefer to just buy once and cry once for a new, brand name, unused carcass, and top technology in manufacturing.

Have had six full sets of Treadwright tires. I REALLY wish I could give them a superior rating but I cannot lie. They are good tires at best. All of our six full sets have had issues. So if you're comfortable buying a decent, good tire; they are your company. The price is decent and customer service is "so-so" at best. The thing that keeps me coming back is it is American owned and I think Veteran owned company. As a Veteran I do what I can to support my community.
@Galm276

This yeah it’s owned by a Navy veteran that’s what I try to tell people as well I sell tires for a living and I tell people that it’s not the best tire by any means, and it’s not supposed to be because they rely on people still buying the best tires in order for them to make their‘s. They are designed to be an all American value option for the consumer

Had mine for 3 years and over 50k miles. Not a single problem, except they are loud like most M/T at speed. I would recommend trying them out, as they are very good for the price. Might want to ask the shop to use beads to balance them.

Sadly it seems that the tires are severely unbalanced after they complete their process. The reviews by buyers indicate that they should only be used in low speed (less than 25 mph) operations as they cause problems at higher speeds. Not good for highway speeds. Basically a very low speed dirt/gravel road tire.

I will never own another set of TreadWright tires. I originally bought 4 that all failed either the tread or casing. All four of the replacements failed as well. The last of which the tread came completely off at interstate speed tearing apart the driver front of my truck destroying the wiring harness and FICM of my 1999 f350 and nearly causing me to loose control of the truck with my family in it. All were AT Wardens properly inflated and not overloaded. Buyer beware.

Watch out! My TW tires blew out on freshly paved highway and cost $1000s of damage to my tacoma and TW denied to warranty and instead blamed the blow out on a road hazard.

Remolded. Aka retreads. That's the carcasses left on highways when retreads disintegrate on 18 wheelers. I'm sure they're fine for farm trucks and vehicles not doing long distance driving or towing or carrying a lot of weight building up heat nnd stress.

I bought 6 of these and out of 6 four of them were absolute trash and not able to be balanced. They trashed my ride quality and the truck cannot even be driven on the road at high speeds. Their warranty sounds so great but when the tires are bad they require you to send them in And then they inspect them, and them after whatever timeframe that takes they will make a decision on which tires they want to warranty. I had the tires tested and 4 of their road force numbers were so bad that it was dangerous. These will have costed me more than if I had just bought the expensive tires I wanted.
