I heard this happen and I'm kind of glad it happened, because it's proves, once and for all, that it's all a gag; that there's more to Emile than what was shown to the audience.

Unless you're familiar with the show, this won't mean much to you. But if you are a fan, this is one of the funniest moments on television ever. I always liked Geoff Edwards on whatever show he was on. But the interactions between these two over time led up to this totally unexpected moment. Like a commenter below, I've watched it several times and laughed so hard I cried. There's no cue card! ROFL

Nice to actually hear a few more words from the mysterious Mr. Autouri!

Mr. Autouri is oddly the thing I most remember from this show. We knew he was a gag personality, but for some reason, because this guy played the character so straight, you couldn't help but think Mr. Autouri brought the character home and lived it.

I saw this episode when it aired in reruns on CBN around 1983/4.

This is so priceless to see the tables turned on Geoff out of the blue. I never understood why they edited out the "No, I didn't" part because for years I always wondered what would happen if Emile just said that instead and now I know!

Standards and Practices requires that a game be winnable. In this case, proof that one of the boxes has the big check. But there’s no rule preventing people from having fun with it.

What few understand was that throughout the shows run amile was very stern and stone faced during this segment only saying “yes I did” he never engaged in banter with Geoff and he never even smiled so things like this really threw him for a loop which is why Geoff was so flabbergasted

Emile really did hide the money. It just so happens he had a sense of humor too.

There was an instance in the British version of deal or no deal where one of the cases turned out to be empty. Their resolution was to reshuffle the remaining cases and start from there. In America, they probably would’ve had to start the game and give the contestant $1 million right there. Not saying either way is wrong, I’m saying they’re different.

Geoff doesn't know how to react to Emile saying "No, I didn't." What a dope! I would've said, "You mean we played this game for nothing? No check at all was hidden?"
