Was about 70 ft in a tree along side of the river. Couldn't use a boom lift because the water and retainer wall. Tree looked healthy so I went up. Started cutting about about 10ft from the top (it was about an 80 or 90 ft tree) halfway through my cut it kicked back on me because the tree was hollow. I definitely learned a lesson. Treat each tree as a worst case scenario. I could have climbed the extra 5 feet and made a safer cut. Beginner error that I luckily made it out of without harm. Wish I had youtube back in the day (about 15 years ago and my family didnt have computers, and smart phones weren't a thing). Here I am, all those years later, and just now getting back into the business after my time in the military. So glad I found your vids. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and positivity brother!

"tough enough job as it is so you might as well think of the little ways to make your life easier" BBR '18.............. perfect and timeless. I was just talking yesterday about how much easier the kids have it now with all the equipment than we had it in the 80's, moving and lifting everything by hand. Saying these kids have never even seen hard work. But then think ing about the old times before the chainsaw, when crosscut saws were used to fall trees. Those guys must have thought the same about us.

Hey Buckin', you'd be right proud of me today I flipped my bar on my wee lil Poulan, and it wasnt starting right after it was hot, so I saw this tip on these saws on another channel, its your friend (Steve I think ?) from your collaboration with the something chain saw saloon....well anyways he recommended gapping the plug to 0.30, so I did that, and also noticed the color of the plug was a bit dark, then noticed the air filter was a bit overstuffed....I cleaned that bad boy in gasoline, squeezed it out, sprayed a bit of wd-40 on it...man she rips now, I dont care what anyone puts on these saws, remember, this company is owned by none other than Husquavarna...I said to myself, "She CUTS Eh ? I swear to the man upstairs she went through a 16" Cherry log....like buttah....be good to your saws my friends...and it be good right back to ya's... Over n Out !

Sometimes the old curved blade silky sugoi does not do good job on the back cut topping, tends to leave the hinge thick at the center & all cut away towards the outsides, then the top can fell bit sideways. Got me a smaller straight blade silky just for topping & finer pruning, seems to work quite well.

Adam Gretzinger after my dealings with stihl I like husqvarna products better and their people better. I've talked with people at stihl about their warranties and products on 94r's and 91r's and 130r and kombi 130 and they've pretty much pissed me off every answer so that's the entire reason I switched to husqvarna and dabbled with a few stihls since but will not buy them again, plus more and more cheap Chinese parts and cut corners etc etc
