Just saw your video, great advice! Man, I remember buying my first tree lounge, I harvested so many dear and a couple bears, the memorys are unforgetable. I gave mine to my son, looking to get another used one( tree lounge, not son). I never felt safe in any other climbing stand.

I just got out of a tree lounge . Hunted 3 hrs. I own two . The square one and the d shape one. Done some things to quiet en it a lil. Leave it on the tree and put the camo leafy cloth on it. Very comfy . Love sitting in it. Don't have any trouble climbing cause I'm only 69 years old. Been using it over 20 years. Will be in one tommorrow..

Many and I mean many years ago I used to rent their VHS hunting videos. I can say I never had the money for one but I can tell you a few things I learned from watching others mistakes. 1. To make a stand quite, use foam or even cardboard in hollow spots 2. Always have a lanyard which attaches you foot climbing aid to your top (in any climbing stand!) I have had my platform come lose when climbing and was unable to get to it without dropping down and hugging the tree. 3. Always paint your wing nuts with bright orange and reflective paint and keep a set in you pack and a sack on your stand. 4. Wear a safety harness!

Everyone talking about a safety belt. When I owned mine it had a safety belt that was attached to the stand itself. You put it on when you got in it and started to climb. It was great because you didn't have to keep moving something up the tree as you climbed. Best climbing tree stand ever in my opinion.

I had a tree lounge about 15 years ago. I sold it. Regretted it ever since. Just bought a barely used one for $100 bucks. So excited. One modification I did was drilled holes in the mid section to be able to bolt the 2 sections together while packing.

I bought my first one about 30 years ago when they were called The Tree Lounge. I put a bow adapter on it and never take it off. It weighs about 25 pounds with all of the accessories I've put on it. I have a chill pad, gun holder, folding saw and haul rope on it. You can stand on the bow adapter to pee or shoot your bow. It's the safest stand on the market. I sleep in mine without worries. You can't fall out of it. Once I find a suitable tree I can be 12 to 15 feet up the tree in five minutes. I highly recommend it.

YES, the Tree Lounge is THE MOST COMFORTABLE TREE STAND EVER MADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only problem is the weight. It's just not the kind of stand that you haul around while scout hunting. If you're very fit and like humping 40+ lbs on your back while walking/stalking miles through the forest then this is the stand for you. Not to mention if you get a Deer you now have to haul all your crap out plus the carcass of a Deer. I used a 75 ft paracord with clips on it to pull my rifle up. I'd clip to my rifle and clip to my stand and I would climb until the paracord would come tight. Hunting 70+ feet up a tree is no joke, but you'll see lots of activity when hunting high.
@SurvivaLust

totally agree, most of the time we scout the day before and just carry in the stand and hang it. Use a cable lock. Also I did add the wheel kit to the stand that I keep in my van....so that makes it nice to haul out your deer. I just don't think there is a safer stand on the market and with that comes a bit more weight. Overall I love mine.

Greatest review video ever made... We owned one too. Well I remembered being about 14 at the time and me and my dad decided to hunt public land and go there for our first time blind and dumb and my dad well he decided I'll bring the tree lounger. Up to this point we only really only put it on a tree in yard never really climbed with it just a basic assembly. My dad at the time 6'2" 270lbs carrying this thing I could hear him 200 yards away while walking to my spot banging and clanging every tree as he descended Into the Woods. Oh and during this ordeal(like mentioned never even stepping foot on this place and really only glancing from the truck windows) he walks about 50yrds in and hits a giant steep ravine and baseball slides 150+ yards downward in a huge CRP swamp cussing the whole way down. I'm standing there in complete darkness listening to this wondering what the hell just happened. Should I go check on him or continue push upwards to my spot.(Now this was in 98' so cellphones weren't a thing and we forgot our 2way radio's) so I'm finally settling in cutting branches making a little makeshift blind it's now getting lighter out I can hear this fool still trying to get it on the tree fighting with it and he's about 400yrds away but it's completely silent that morning. Well about noon I hear making his decent down the tree so I pack up and we meet at the truck. I'm like hey dad where's the new stand. He's like screw it I left it attached for when we get back for our evening hunt. Now the store which is like 5 miles away and as we're out he's convincing me to come down there with him setup and I'd have better luck and so forth. We'll get back after about a hour of being gone and both slowly this time climb down the this big ass hill as I'm looking for deer sign and a good spot he's got this confused look about him looking all around up in trees I'm thinking he's lost his marbles. Then I hear him say "Well Damn I think someone may have come in here while we was gone a stole my stand." I'm thinking no way can't be and especially as awkward as the damn thing was to break down and carry out. But yep sure as a bear shits in the woods someone else was also listening that morning to his clumsy ass and scoped it out and made a break for it. Moral to all this is that in the long run yeah it sucked being robbed our first time out on public land but in my opinion that thing was not economical. Especially now in today's market with these new summit stands weighing in at like 10lbs and can hold 350+ and sets up in mere minutes quietly and I can coon my way up a good tree 40ft in like 2min. My personal opinion I'd give the tree lounger 2 out 10 and only a 2 is because after you cheat death trying to get turned around it is dam comfortable and if packed right you could camp out in that thing all day.

What a great story. We just bought my wife a Summit Viper SD that light weight climber that gets all the rave. It was raining the second morning we went out. That design does not hold to a wet tree. She slipped about a foot thankfully she was wearing a harness. Yes the Tree Lounger has many things go against it namely weight and it’s noisy but with practice it can be done. In 30 years if using Tree Loungers i have never had it slip. The design makes it bullet proof. I use a cable lock 🔒 and secure it to the tree. Be Safe.

I've got three tree lounges! Very safe stand and grips the tree like no other climbing stand on the market! And comfort wise?!...... Everyone should know there is no other stand that is as comfortable as the tree lounge. I can sit in a tree lounge for hours and hours and still be very comfortable. I agree it is not one that you just really want to hike around with and Hunt one day in that spot and then take it down but if you want to hunt a spot several times and leave your stand somewhere there's no other stand on the market that even if it comes close to the tree lounge!!

@@SurvivaLust Actually they did change the design when they partnered with another company for a few years. After Bob passed away, his wife took back over and went back to the original design which was the square aluminum design. The other ones were made with D shaped aluminum bars and were machined welded instead of hand built. I had an original and sold it, and regretted it ever since. I'm now looking for another one. Happy hunting and great video.

I am probably a better tree climber than videographer. The secret to this climber is making sure you keep your center of gravity either on the foot climber or the chair as close to the tree as possible and always pushing your body weight downward. I have never had this climber slip ever. Thanks for your feedback.....we will be using this climber in a few weeks....I will be sure to do a follow up video showing in greater detail. However it's very intuitive once you get into the seat.

@SurvivaLust
@SurvivaLust Жыл бұрын
The wood wedge is placed behind the seat climber on the back of the tree to elevate your chair upwards. As the tree gets narrow as you climb your chair has a tendency to angle downward more. Just bungee the wood wedge around the tree as you get into your final position with the wood facing towards the back of the tree. If that makes sense.

Such as tape or plastic coating and putting the bolts in permanent etc. I have never had one of the stands but I have a buddy that does. I didn't realize they still made them. I use a Lone Wolf.
