In this video I show how I use the Tree Pro tree tubes or guards to protect the trees in our food forests from deer browse, deer rub, as well as other problems that we have had to deal with on our site. I love that the tubes a reusable, adjustable, allow easy access for inspection and they protect the trees from low branch damage due to snow consolidation in the harsh winters. I am a fan of the tubes for protecting young trees, but I do have to clean the branches that invariably grow within the tube, usually twice a year...this helps avoid the long low branches you show in your video.

Do the tubes "overheat" the tree trunks in the summer? Is that possible?

If I put tree tubes on my new trees this spring, How many years do or should I leave the tube on the tree. I have lots of deer and hug ant hills that give me problems.

Hi Dan thanks for the question. I'll try to make a video this week going over my recommendations for using tree tubes for various types of bushes and trees. There are some problems that I've had by leaving the trees in tree tubes for 2 to 3 years and I'll go over those problems and tell you how I'm addressing those issues at this time.
