One of the best "Valley Lines" videos I've seen this year. Well done. I think at 80 yrs I'm too old to learn to use a drone. Mike "Rail in Wales"

All that being done with just a 9 month closure? honestly, that's pretty impressive. Also, going from 30 min frequencies to 15 min frequencies (with faster trains as well), that's a game changer. Missing the train means getting home in 15+50 min instead of 30+65 min. That's a 30 minute difference!

Not bad, hopefully the line to Ferndale from Porth can reopen sometime as well as extensions to Blaenrhonnda and Hirawun.

That is what we could do with between Sheffield and Lincoln.

Remember the valley lines back in the 70s my late dad was a guard on the 116 dmus the service was on knees Merthyr was 2 hourly and the rhymney bargoed section came very close to closing

@Pizzpott
I did a double-take when I saw the word 'Treherbert' in the title of a reccomended video....I live in Tynewydd so have been watching the progress of this since it started. (but then again I remember seeing then build the Ynyswen platform when I lived there in the 80's too.) If you see a silver car doing 30 or more, it's me.....

I remember when St John's had 4 platforms and a signal box and a siding on before what is now the flyover

Why no reference to the Treorchy section? Is the Tylecoch bridge being kept or replaced by a level crossing?
@ieuanjones7436
that's doing a great job but there are some spots are missing electric lines in some areas are they going up or staying empty.
@ieuanjones7436
only thing iam stuck with how can the new train-trams get up to treherbert in 15 minutes because it gets from cardiff to treherbert in 1 hour and 35 minutes sometimes.
