Really excellent, thanks. I have one question, since you always reccommend to adapt the strategies to the market. If I want to approach Micro futures, instead of the bigger ones, what is the right way to make strategies work? I mean reduce stop loss and profit target, or keep same values, change timeframe...?

if a strategy works on the emini contract then it should work or at least be correlated to the micro contract. the only thing slippage will be different for the micro contract, and of course by definition, if stoploss is 1000 on emini then it should be 100 for micro as micro is 10th of emini

Hey Ali, love your channel. I’ve binged the whole thing and am trying Strategy Quant. In an older video, you mentioned that a strategy that works when you change parameters by 50% or more in either direction is inherently robust. This confuses me. Why is this true? I know you’ve made some robustness videos in the past but maybe you could make a few videos here and there laying out your process for evaluating robustness? Thanks for the great content!

Thank for being a viewer of the channel. Robustness is not a single thing. It is a number of steps including strategy filters in development that has to be performed in sequence in a workflow to verify robustness. In my go.statoasis.com/ATM there is one module dedicated to that workflow.

I'm finding that many trend type systems I have been developing on a basket of etfs (from major indexes to commodities to fixed income), have fallen off quite a bit since Jan 2022. For example, close above the upper Keltner channel etc. Is this something you have found as well? I'm not using any of these systems currently. They are all on the bench. Mean reversion has been king.

The problem with TF is you need many of them in different speeds on different markets Long/Short, even then the performance can be below average for 5 years then you hit a big year. The advantage is that big year is where all other strategy types are struggling including MR

Why did you pick the 80 days variation and 15 days exit? Wasnt 40 days better?

U can pick any variation that suits your portfolio as long as it is stable

The only way to do it is with a lot of leverage, which even if you succeed, it will go zero at the end
