Never, ever forget what we had to endure for years, weak away performances, shambolic defending, poor league finishes all the while our rivals continued to win and improve. The problem with last Wenger seasons was not in Wenger and his training methods and tactical vision. It was just a poorly balanced squad with decent attacking options and just atrocious defending. Petr Cech was terrible. Kolasinac, Mustafi, Niles, Bellerin, Holding, Chambers would never be near current squad. I don’t remember who was in charge of selection in that period of time, but Jesus Lord Christ man must be a secret Spurs fan or something like that. It’s much easier to get good results when you’ve got Saliba/Gabriel as a pair of CB instead of Mustafi/Holding. Last year we didn’t won the league just because of Holding. And yep, do you remember first Arteta season and the squad we’ve got? Edu has done fantastic recovery job, Arteta is special, no doubt, but without good transfer and contract politics we would be in relegation battle. Wenger did his best with that set of players.

What the hell are you guys saying? Poor defence was only for that atrocious 17-18 season. Most of our trophies under Wenger were won thanks to a fantastic defence. That's also why Wenger was a specialist of the FA Cup. Also, the 05-06 CL final included 10 clean sheets IN A ROW. Koscielny-Mertesacker were one of the best CB pairings of 2012-16. The Invincibles "only" scored 73 goals, while the current 23-24 squad is on 70 goals with 10 matches left. As great as Wenger was, and he truly was, I always thought the defence was an issue with Arsenal. It seemed to get worse when Keown left and Campbell left - never really felt like there was proper stable defensive unit until the current era under Arteta, where there are many solid players who can rotate and understand each other. In a way it's kind of an indictment of the final days of the Wenger era, just a lot of different personalities and no leadership in the team.

This is the usual reasoning but it only gets you so far. Arsene aged, and could no longer improve players. There's a difference between creating a platform for players to play their natural game and express their talent versus actually challenging them and stretching them to grow their game. By the end Arsene couldn't do the latter, and also couldn't consistently compete tactically. We were so open and vulnerable in defence for years, and that had as much to do with Arsene's choices as it did with him building the Emirates and an austere transfer budget.@@micheal6472

We've had some of the best players in the world, Wenger's teams in his last years were one or two world class players away from winning the league title. Τhe home record wasn't bad 15-2-2 they won all the matches against teams 5-20 in the table. Away, atrocious. Up until Christmas it was an OK season with 4 place kai hopes for CH L football. But after that Bournemouth game everything fell apart, 8 straight defeats away. Cech was unbelievably bad that season too. The real disaster was THAT Atletico home game in Europa League Semi finals, if they had won, he would have left with a European title in his name.

People will always consider Wenger as one of the Tightest Managers Ever? TRUTH IS, he probably was, however every decision he made was for the benefit of Our football club and he wouldn't alter that for no one! In years to come he'll be considered The Best Manager that ever graced the PL. ❤

i think the problem was in left and right back belerin and nacho were attaking style backs klosinać was balanced style but he was sub and in Middlefielders just xhaka was defending style player : I THINK BEN White be WELL IN THIS TEAM
