In Nicaragua, tres leches de coco is also common: coconut milk is substituted for the whole milk and fresh coconut is added to the cream topping.

My two year old was asking for more crust! Saying “mas please” =D Used cake flour instead of all purpose Added the tres leches as directed Used only whipped cream and confectioners sugar. This cake is truly amazing!

Warm the whole milk on the stove and then steep a cinnamon stick and a small piece of orange peel for about 5-10 minutes then take them out and use like the recipe calls for. It takes it to a much better level.

I think this is by far the best tasting vanilla cake I've ever baked. My husband is lactose so he really cannot eat the cake when the 3 Milks are added to it but he doesn't fee left out because I gave him all the pieces that were cut from the cake. He said this is a really great tasting vanilla cake! I just finished putting together the Tres Leches cake and it's in the fridge right now. Can't wait to try it tomorrow with the family! Mexican Vanilla is absolutely wonderful to use. My cousin bought me a huge bottle once. Best gift ever!

Tres Leches Recipe: Preheat oven to 350 degrees- 3 2/3 cups flour | 2 1/4 sugar| 2 tsp baking powder| 2 tsp salt| (Whisk) Separate bowl add in the following 1/3 cup sour cream(or yogurt, or buttermilk)| 1/2 cups whole milk|1 tbl spoon vanilla| 8 egg WHITES| Then add in 17 table spoons of butter (to the bowl of dry ingredients you first prepared) Mix well- then add in the liquid bowl into the dry bowl as you mix it. Prepare the parchment paper in the baking pan. Add in the cake mix and bake for 350 degrees for 40 minutes! In a separate bowl prepare 3/4 cups of whole milk| 12 fl oz can evaporated milk| 14 oz sweetened condensed milk| Stir Well then leave out the liquid mix while the cake finishes baking| Take the cake out the oven! 🍰 (Optional) Thinly cut the sides of the cake, then cut another thin layer of the top of the cake. The cake should almost look all white. Poke holes in the cake with a fork, and pour the wet ingredients bowl over the cake slowly. Slowly, so that the liquid can leak into the cake. Now prepare the whipped cream!!3 cups heavy cream| 1/2 of confectioners sugar| Splash of vanilla| (Optional) mascarpone cheese 8.8 Oz| Put the whipped cream on top of the cake and add strawberries🍓
