He was carrying what appears to be a Glock firearm as well.

when i saw this for the first time I thought three things....1) for someone who acts as though he is comfortable in the wild he knows not to drink from a stream for fear of picking up Giardia or other nasty bugger 2) who swallows that loudly? 3) who gets two BIG swallows out of that small of a draw of water in your mouth?

Or it was the pond in his garden with a nice fresh water supply? Listening beyond the swallowing I think he gulped quite a bit of air...

I drank from streams & mountain puddles for years without ever getting sick. Not saying he's not a liar....

The incongruence between sound and image in the "drinking" scene really itched badly in me the first time I saw it. It felt like bad acting with sound effects added in the edit. I think the detail I hooked on to was the absence of any reaction in the water during the sucking/surpling moments. I see lips just barely touching the surface - almost fearing touching the water - but I see no corresponding movement of water entering the mouth or ripples emanating.

Correct. As a retired Australian airline pilot with only 51yrs flying experience, even being held in a vertical dive, this aircraft CANNOT get to the ground first without an added force beyond gravity. In other words, it takes engine power to overcome drag to match a skydiver, let alone beat them to the ground. You are also correct in that the aircraft would not stay in a vertical descent without being held there. No pilot, plus No engine, equals No possible. (ya canna break the laws of physics captain)😁👍

Thank you. I can only comment on what I see and sometimes after applying what I have learned over the years. In some areas that is quite a lot but in aviation not nearly as much as I would like - not zero but not even scratching the surface of a well experienced commercial pilot. Your input is greatly appreciated - along with that of any other pilots, instructors, examiners... 🙂

My impression is that he drank from a water feature in someone's backyard, which is probably why that square thing was in the view too.

I did wonder about that. He mentioned tadpoles so it wasn't stagnant.

Has anyone else noticed that the distortion of the lens at the horizon, when the plane is filmed from above doesn't seem to match the GoPro camera that he's holding? The horizon looks a lot less distorted than it would at the corner on a GoPro, as if it was a different lens. It could be digitally zoomed. It could also be filmed by his phone (if he had managed to take it out of his pocket without dropping it and kept holding the parachute navigating ropes at the same time... Obviously this is highly speculative as this could've been done in post, but the stabilised view and the way the camera is panning, looks more like a drone shot to me...

-Apparent to me that he slurps a little water. (maybe half a glass, total). But this is definitely not a thirsty person ! I don't really think the sound is fake... but, well...idk. Also you have seen that he had water with him ? His jacket gets clearly wet when he's crawling out of the brush. (Landing). -He also has a gun !!! Have you seen that ! 😮 People...(americans, obviously 😉 ) noticed the grip of a Glock (I'll take their word for it... they're experts in these matters. The whole lot). Cheers, -K. 🇮🇸

A gun? I'm too lazy to go through frame by frame - do you know where about in the video it is?

@@ProfMoose kzfaq.info/get/bejne/es2YrJCq3ruxeKM.html Gun shows up a bunch of times. Also the thing at the end is super curious. Spotted it, but have no idea what it is.

Correct. The whole lot of Americans know that a gun is a tool, and being afraid of inanimate objects is childish. Imagine living where there are still literately still Kings and Queens and saying ANYTHING about the free world. Lollers! Enjoy your ruling class bra.

Regarding the white square thing you see "through" his armpit. ... I wonder if you have seen a high definition version of his video. (I have - some weeks ago) Apparently one can download a high quality version of the video. One installs an app from Google play store called a downloader.. I haven't done that myself, but I saw a 4K version ! -- Btw. you said "what is that" (white thing)...and I just want to mention a quote; god does not build in straight lines. (I'm not sure if it's exact) Anyhoo...that is a man-made thing.

Judging by the perspective and the light reflecting on the object as he's getting up, right after drinking (or not) the water, it looks like a bottle or something cylindrical in shape with a smaller lid on it. It's more clearly shown after his second sip of water. It was resting on the rock right next to his leg, and it was definitely not something big on the background like a house or any construction that I've seen other people speculating about. It could be a thermos for water, as looks in size like what he had under his jacket when he jumped. Who really knows other than him...

For someone who claims to be heavily dehydrated, he barely wets his lips. There are other videos showing him with a water bottle on the passenger seat in the aircraft, a Glock handgun concealed under his jacket (then later in a chest holster), plus a large quantity of water on his jacket at the moment he touches down in the scrub brush. It's all an act.

Looks like a tank or silo in the background. It would make sense for the cows to be gathered around it.

Just curious...seeing as this craft was originally designed for the Lycoming 65hp engine that had a dry weight of 165 pounds and crashed with a 65hp Continental which had a dry weight of 170 pounds could those 5 pounds of extra nose weight put the plane outside its ability to properly be trimmed? Hence the nose over when he bailed out and the rapid loss of altitude?

Of course not. That 5kg is about the same as taking 1 bag of baggage out of the tail.
