Trey Hohenstreiter was just 4 years old when he received the life-changing news - he had cancer.
He began three years of grueling chemotherapy treatments. Trey received 13 red blood and six platelet transfusions to help his body recover. These transfusions gave him both the energy to be himself - and to battle cancer.
In 2011, six years since his original diagnosis, Trey was declared cancer free. Today, he's a senior and plays on his high school's tennis and baseball teams.
Today, Trey and his family are advocates for blood donation to save the lives of even more patients in our community.
“Trey is alive today because 13 people donated their time and their blood to save a life. “Giving blood is such an amazing gift,” said his mother, Kathy.
