Often I ask my students whether they can play triad arpeggios on top 1234 set strings with these chord progressions. G D Em C = 1 5 6m 4. It's not easy but we all need to be able to play them over these chord changes. Let's check yourself with this! PS, You can use a reverb pedal for checking your dynamics too! Can you play?
1 5 6m 4 - Fretboard Harmony 7th chordwith 6th String root & 5th String Root

Thank you simple concept to practise. I still dont know triads, I need to think about the the scale, the note names, ear training and count the distance but its easier every day. I like the fun melodies you play on ''accident'' Makes it fun i try to play them too :)

There is a certain magic sound with the Gmajor and as I explored the guitar I found the F# such an amazing note - Placing my fingers on the 6 and 7 fret and one pinky of the high e string which is the Note A. - A four note sound but by switching my pinky to the B note I was a led to also add the A note from the fifth string and I had all the notes of the D major scale in this chord and the sound was so beautiful that I could not stop and played it for awhile and then a tear appeared in the corner of my eye , I looked at my guitar and said - I love you- ""Sensei" thank you for your inspirations they teach us the emotional connection between heart and strings . Guitar is a living thing it comes to life by the hands of a man

lol I just started kinda doing this yesterday. I was something called bluejacked on my home WiFi so I did extra security measures and I locked myself out of my laptop and I can’t remember my password to get into guitar wisdom. But I literally just started playing the all the notes individually over you send me. Not the shape but individually like a solo almost sounds so good. I cranked the reverb and turned on the neck pick up. Sounds so good. Lock your internet down so you don’t miss out on this guy’s lesson

Thanks for all the great content. I'm an intermediate guitarist...self taught... but am still trying to find the best resources for really studying and learning the fretboard. I humbly ask for any recommendations as a major fan. Thank you TomoMusic. Btw, I'm a proud owner of your AZ Ibanez...bought just for fun as a fan and found I love it more than some of my expensive guitar. Have actually used it to record many demos.

Thank you for the lessons! Really exited, and with all of this new material on guitar wisdom, but i must restrain myself and progress slow! It would be awesome if you improvised a little bit and showed us a bit of phrasing in these basic diatonic chords! Also, when you say, "Think intervals, do you mean the degrees!?" I am a bit confused because i may sing a bit of solfeze but is always from route! When i go from M3 to 5, for example, should i know this sound also! But if there is no music behind, maybe the M3 becomes the route 🤔!!! its a long journey. Thank you for helping us

You're very welcome! Stay with my Guitar Wisdom and do all slow as possible ... great result toward end! Yes. Thank you for sharing! Maybe simple improvisation series. Basic chords or Blues form. Intervals & degrees are same. Degrees are numbers, Intervals are distance. You need to know everything you can.

This is the same thing violinists do when doing scales. If you know the triads and your scales with naming all the notes you just played, only then you know your fingerboard.

Great video as always, congratz! Tomo, do you have any video here on KZfaq showing how your "thinking process" works during a improvisation? And how should we think in a progressive way (Begginer to advanced)?
@TomoFujitaMusic
@TomoFujitaMusic 24 күн бұрын
Thank you so much! Thank you for sharing! Practice process is more toward learning lesson material, after master those material then you can apply freely to your performance. Interesting part is... performance mode... you don't really think any name of scales or chord shapes... all about the sound that you hear spontaneously in that moment! That's why real pro musicians are not great at explain this! Thank you.
