As someone who didn't follow this game's dev cycle at all, I can't imagine how this must've been to listen to without context.

Undertale Yellow: the game that rewards your horrible actions with incredible music.

Ceroba is the definition of "Let's cut the chase" as she absolutely demolishes your HP, not even to mention she has a second phase, by far one of the coolest fights I've ever seen. Not even to mention the incredibly smooth animations.

* You feel like your sins are being lifted from your back. * Wait. * That's your max HP.

I like how the genocide route in undertale yellow fells different from the one in undertale. In undertale the genocide route is characterized as pointless, it achieves nothing but the pain and suffering from the people around you, and Mettaton fight shows that not even the battles are worth it, just Undyne and Sans can actually be seen as true challenges. You’re just a maniac destroying everything around just because you can. On the other hand, Clover has a real reason to be doing all of this, justice. He is aware that the monsters were the ones that killed the other humans and now he is making justice. This is why this soundtrack hits different, deep down you know killing is wrong, but at the same time you feel like is what your enemy deserve for trying to kill you in the first place. It makes you feel like the hero, even though you’re not.

The fact that now we can actually hear this IN-GAME is insane, against my favorite character too :D

Ceroba, the definition of "Come at me, see how that goes" and then we see how it goes. Probably the only boss I'll ever have a heartrate increase while fighting.

Oh man, that slight leitmotif of Enemy Retreating in there. Good work, everyone knows it's not an Undertale game without the leitmotifs.

The fact you can also hear the Enemy Retreating motif. The song is saying something, and it's probably something along the lines of "Proceed".

0:58 Huh, it like Genocide itself has its own Leitmotif. You can hear this in both Enemy Retreating and Retribution.

Finally having the context.. this hits different now. Still just as much of a banger though. Fantastic job.

It's feeling so wierd that while canon lore is centered around Ceroba, there she only gets one cutscene and one fight in which she dies. You are here not to fuck about other's problem. You are here to deal JUSTICE on agressors and Ceroba IS the one who totally deserved to know it.

ASTRONOMICALLY LATE, but after nerding out and going through each theme of the bosses in genocide, one thing I've noticed is the increasingly apparent "Enemy Retreating" motif in all of them, both showing that this isn't only the boss's theme we're listening too, and that Clover is a force that is slowly, but surely overpowering the monsters before them, imagine hearing your own boss theme during your battle with a child, and the CHILD'S THEME starts overpowering your own. What a horrifying thought!

I like how Undertale Yellow opted to make its Genocide route generally hard (especially coming into this fight). Undertale already did the "this isn't worth it, you get no satisfaction or difficulty in puzzles or fights aside from Undyne and Sans", so it would be disappointing to repeat that deal. You're mainly doing UTY Genocide for the experience and less for the moral implications you probably already know, so you deserve a decent experience. Although some might say the Genocide battles went overboard a bit in difficulty...

i love this song. not just because its a good song but because of the implications it has Its a mix of "Enemy Retreating" and other motifs. its like you and ceroba's themes are fighting for dominance as you both feel equally righteous in what you're doing Clover because you're taking revenge for the 5 lost humans and Ceroba because you literally just killed her bet friend and not to mention dozens of others on the way here
