4:15 thats how i feel about joon and yoongis albums too. joon makes me think and then feel, yoongi makes me feel and then think. i can never listen to some of their more personal songs cuz it gets me too deep in my feelings for a casual listen, so hearing the last with you (a couple hours ago lol) was the first time in a while. its hard not to feel what he feels when you listen to it, even if you've dealt with all your demons at least somewhat, listening to his raw lyrics like that, its different 5:00 there's a live performance of so far away with the vocal line! i think its from a muster (fanmeeting concert) and I dont think suga actually performs with them it might just be the vocal line but its beautiful

okay before we proceed, i get you about agust d album. im honestly scared for the new album bcs according to suga's hints, it will be about healing (bcs he is not angry anymore i think). yet, as i watched and digesting agust d album again with you, i realize im still at the anger stage. i can't fathom yet how can i heal enough that i am at peace. because ive been trying for years.

"Tsundere" is a literary archetype in Japanese storytelling (it's a very popular archetype on Japanese virtual games, manga and animation). In romantic stories, it describes a character who acts or appears to be cold, dismissive, rude, irritable, grumpy, moody, often even belligerant, agressive and violent towards their love interest, but who acts in such a way in order to hide their vulnerability, fears and romantic feelings. Usually, as the romance advances, they become more honest, open, tender and soft-hearted. All of what you articulated including his ridiculous tsundre side are why Yoongi is my unshakable bias. He’s pure emotion so often which is at battle with his difficulties sharing his emotions with others. He’s so passionate but quiet and full of rage but also working to get past it.

I loved watching this. The members have definitely rubbed off on yoongi over the years. These days he says I love you first. Recently on live hobi and jimin called him and before they cut the call yoongi said I love you to both of them without them saying it first. 😭😭😭😭😭 We love character development. It's so great to hear you go so deep into it. I completely agree with the feelings perspective. He's really introspective and holds all his sentiments dearly. I learned a lot about just being from him. Also, his recent palette interview was very healing in terms of all this anger.... I was army at the time where a lot of his anger related to his career and treatment from others started and hearing him finally talk about it in such a healing way really released me a little bit.

Oh, I loved how you summed up what you think/feel about Yoongi's first album. The last part of the song "So far away" JK did adlibs singing "First Love" - I think it might be a reference to another solo song from Yoongi with the same title "First Love" - it is one of my favorites songs from him, especially live performance because it is overflowing with emotions.

I’m older Army and I just want to say that hearing you be down on yourself is heart breaking to me. Namjoon says don’t look back, but sometimes it’s useful. From my perspective, you’re so young. You have your whole life ahead and you’re so smart and introspective. I realize that you’re not asking for anyone’s opinion but I feel the need to throw some advice out there. Do whatever it takes to get a handle on your anxiety so it doesn’t paralyze you from getting the most out of your life. Time goes by so fast the older you get. so far away is hands down my favourite yoongi song. an underrated masterpiece. ive never been into hip-hop but eminem got me with mockingbird, then the same thing happened for me with yoongi's so far away when i didn't know anything about bts. i was randomly and cluelessly checking out their soundcloud and stumbled upon so far away ft jin & jungkook, their vocals gave me chills like i could feel the emotion and the pain without even understanding yoongi's korean verses. then i found a lyric video- his words together with the music and jin/jk's vocals i found myself crying. the way he tells his stories, so raw and unfiltered, vulnerable yet so strong, like he's completely exposing himself to the world yet no one can lay a finger on him. like you're falling but at the same time it feels liberating.

P.S. the line "first love" I think connects to a song of Sugas aka Yoongi called First Love. It is on a BTS album, and it is so good and emotional. Personally, it is one of the first songs from them that made me cry (and I don't cry easily).

An absolute masterpiece of a song. I'm in love with Suran's version (adore her voice, although jin/jungkook kill it here), but that tie in to First Love pushes this version above for me

I listened to this song on repeat when I heard it in 2016, pretty much every single day for at least a year because I was going through it and I still. Your approach of getting to the know the BTS members music individually first is a novel approach which I really enjoy. I can’t help but try and anticipate your reaction when you finally get to the BTS as a group’s music. You might think you’ve heard all their introspective lyrics in their solo songs and expect the group songs to be lightweight but that isn’t the case at all. Instead BTS tend to create music with paradox; they might sound bright & light but there’s plenty of substance when you delve. Borahae 💜

Tsundere is a Japanese word that is a common character trope in anime. It refers to characters that are hard on the outside, but soft and squishy on the inside. It fits Yoongi perfectly.

i have to say, i love this version of so far away because of their vocals, and i do love to listen to the softer version sometimes, but the production on the suran version will not be topped for me, that guitar solo makes me *feel* things, like the ending to that songs gives me goosebumps every time... this version is so good but the production on the suran version makes me feel it in my soul...

i have to say this - suga's first mixtape, especially/specifically so far away, is what turned me from a new bts fan that just loved their music videos & was just enjoying the good music and messages but didn't really care too much to follow everything about them, into a hardcore army that has now followed them for 6 years and counting.. so far away made me cry for literally an hour because at the time i was struggling with just feeling burned out and unmotivated all the time (i was in uni studying something i hadnt chosen even tho i got accepted into my top choice uni that was #1 in the US in my chosen field with a 15,000$ scholarship after working so hard in school to get it cuz it was a wickedly expensive school and i couldnt afford it or any of the other schools i got accepted into for that major (architecture), and so without even realizing it i had lost my motivation and just felt aimless. yoongi not only put that feeling into words, he made me realize it in myself and it was because of this song that i even realized why i was struggling to even care, let alone put effort into my projects and exams wen be4 i was always so motivated to do my best. because of him & knowing that some things just dont work out the way u want i was able to work thru my defeated mentality and i actually came through it feeling really happy with where i ended up. the way yoongi talks about goals and passions speaks to me and reminded me that a goal isnt everything in life, and its ok to stop and just figure things out every now and then. also, that goals dont need to be career related, that i can just work on being happy with my LIFE no matter what my financial or career success are. also ironically this is the same thing that i have been taught in different ways as a muslim, that career, money, capital success arent the most important things in life, but it never really sank in just how much value i was putting on these things until that point. im so much more at peace and to sum it up i think bts was the trigger & islam was my guide for fixing my mindset & life.

One of the reasons the jin jungkook suga version of so far away hurts is cause the songs instrumental and lyrics are different at the end from the original and have references to another one of his songs First Love which..... that one makes me sad too. You'll get to that one eventually when going through bts' discography as a whole

The thing is yoongi act like he's annoyed but he love it not like but LOVE it. In concert when members do something he stand beside them so member see him & react, otherwise he sulk (like in 43:43) Today's yoongi easily says "I love you" to his members. When members (jimin and jhope) called him when he went live, he end his live with "I love you". He also said he can said " I love you " easily to members. I think yoongi mental health been good since last year more. He is more expressive physically now. He don't feel shy to confess his love for his members

Yoongi and BTS are special people to me. I can still remember when Agust D just dropped and I cried so much especially in The Last. It just made me realize how human he is and that he's so brave for exposing his vulnerability. People is probably the song of my life cuz it just describe being human and life straightforwardly.
