About 10 -12 years ago, I was at an A R Rehman concert in Pune. Didi was there as a visitor. Rehman ji invited her to the stage. She was so old, she needed two people to help her up the stairs. Everyone requested her to sing. Two things blew my mind- 1. When she spoke, it sounde like a little child was talking in a beautiful, innocent, playful voice. 2. What she said was "माफ कीजिए, मैंने आज बिल्कुल भी रियाज़ नहीं किया है। मैं गा नहीं पाऊंगी!" (Sorry, I haven't practiced today at all, I can't sing today!) One of the fond memories that I might reflect upon when I am on my death bed. ❣️

My mom a huge fan of hers always humming something sung by her, mom died 10 years ago but the love and taste for Lata jis songs she created among us continues as it has become part of our lives, no need to tell that I am from pakistan, Mom died 10 years ago but I feel I have lost her now.
