My mom got taken off life support today and was a fan of Herberg. Hopefully they can get a drink on the other side. Love to all in Minnesota

Mitch seems like a very kind soul. We lost our son to OD. Such losses to those of us left to do Life without them. Thanks for posting this.

So glad to stumble over this tonight. I discovered Mitch shortly after he passed, which devastated me when I found out. Thankyou Lynn for keeping him alive. I had just beat cancer, and I'm still recovering from a stroke. Thankyou from the bottom of my heart. He helps me heal.

Just found this on KZfaq while listening to some Mitch tonight...how awesome! I'm so glad I took the time to listen to this. I very, very rarely post comments but felt compelled tonight...here's my $3.50 I STILL love Mitch, never get tired of listening to him! I first discovered him years ago on Comedy Central...watched his "Special" with my son and we were both instantly hooked! His humor, his voice, his delivery, his timing, his mannerisms and his genius...Mitch was one of a kind and gone too soon. I'm in my late fifties and my son is now in his thirties and we STILL tell each other Mitch Hedberg jokes. Mitch, you still make me laugh...you are loved and still remembered.

That's the brilliance of having a brain, perspective and open mind. It makes sense, it's the type of humor one is into that creates joy. I once took a shit, but then I lost it.

Mitch was and still is the best! I live in saint paul where he grew up, but I wish I was here when he was. I wish I could have met this magical man. Side note, Doug is my favorite comic that is alive, i wish i could see his show!

Making jokes was Mitches way of keeping his head above water. Cotton wool comfort comedy. People probably went through Mitch withdrawal when he died.

Reflecting... Mitch is like The Princess Bride of Comedy. A quote machine you know exactly who/where it came from. The sheer volume of quotes is off the charts.

"Quote" is actually a verb. The nouns once asked it if it would like to switch loyalties & replace the word "quotation" & it said "No, thanks. I'm fine with the part of speech I am." My attempt to carry on Mitch's sense of humor.

"People think that because I'm a guy I'm into sports. Recently during the NBA finals I was in line at 7-11 and the guy behind me said, "hey man do you know what's the score to the game is? " I replied, that depends. If the game is asking the other person questions he doesn't give a shit about then you are ahead one to nothing."

Saw Mitch at Zanies in Nashville. I believe this is the place he referenced sweeping. I believe it was around a month before he passed. I had not heard of him before the show. My friends loved him though and I am forever grateful for them for introducing me to him. He is hands down my favorite comic to this day. They'll never be another one like him. My condolences to his wife. He will be forever missed.

I know this is from 2005, so podcasts with comedians weren't such an established entity as it is today, but the Morning Zoo Talk Radio Call-In energy makes this pretty much unlistenable. "Eh, I'm callin' from Canada and I really liked Mitch Hedberg." "Wow!! R-R-REALLY??? Boy, I remember Mitch said once after meeting a Canadian fan, 'Wow, someone in Canada likes me!' Hey! Thanks for calling! Next caller!" "Hey, I loved Mitch too! Remember when he used to tell those jokes that were so observational??" "Yeah we used to love those.." "Boy, I wish he were still around!" "Yeah, me too!"

Catch the Norm McDonald joke told by the host ?! Mitch was way ahead of his time. The delay in laughs proves it. Today that makes it even funnier to listen. Norms joke - (ABout being at the bar getting drunk all day and then his friend shows up Late and is like why you leaving)
