While he is looking sideways at something, he is narrating and moving 4 different hydaulic functions of the excavator simultanieously. He is part of the machine. Incredible.

I basically wrote almost the exact same thing and then deleted it after I saw your post! So it blew you away just as it blew me away that he does it without even thinking about it! Makes you wonder if he realizes that A; he’s doing all that B; that there are very few people that have that skill set to do that! I could go on and on!

The trees look good sized when you're felling them, but the excavator really hides their true size. I was blown away by that one tree (the rotten one) at how small you looked standing next to it. Great job at opening the ground up.

Day after that busy dredging a golf course water hazard pond. Let's not forget his fun time which for most people wouldn't involve what they do for a living but Noooo, not Chris. Just a suggestion that may help, but keep the rpm and chain speed up near the top end speed as it cuts best/fastest then. Jamming it into the cut causes it to stop, and then isn't cutting wood. Just an observation. Another good video, and thanks for taking us along.

Every time I watch trees getting taken down, I'm not able to resist thinking about my dad and the fantastic idea he had for taking a dead black cherry tree down. A little backstory for the cherry was it died sometime near about 1986 but it wasn't rotten anywhere. It was also about five feet across, and all it did was season up, dry out and get harder each year until finally. Around 1994, finally Dad gets the bug up his bum to break out a chainsaw that was older than I was. Had the saw been kept in better shape, it would have been so much easier. None the less, ten minutes of starting attempts later the saw catches and sluggishly revs up but it seems to want run wide open very well. Wedge out in two pieces because the bar wasn't long enough to get it in one. Meanwhile, my job had been climb the tree. The same dead tree that has been dead for nearly a decade at that point. The same one that is currently having a large wedge cut out of the base. Oh and I'm about seventy feet from the ground, no safety rope but I do have a tow rope from a river tug to loop around the top fork. Get the tow rope placed and just start to think about coming down. Wedge gets knocked out and a sudden gust of wind rocks this dead fall of a tree and three other oaks nearby. Like rocks them with force enough to get the tops moving a dozen or more feet in sway. Getting down I still only vaguely remember as fear and blur then on the ground. But I didn't fall or jump, just that it was eight years before I would even climb more than a foot from the ground. Tow rope is stretched tight, tree is flexed but not coming over. Ok, more chainsaw back cut... More cutting until the tree is entirely cut from the stump, but the tree is not horizontal yet. What it is doing is now leaning away from the wedge out towards the neighbors house and the neighbors that were on their back deck having a barbecue and watching the goings on. Quick work with a chain hoist starts to work until a link of the anchoring chain breaks at the weld. Another chain hoist from another neighbors' job finally pulled the dead cherry over. That's the thing I thought of when Chris was talking about the triple tree here.
