Andy has devoted much of his life to studying the techniques of leading equine therapists such as the late Jack Meagher who one of the leading writers, teachers and practitioners of deep tissue massage for horses.
As a soft tissue therapist for both horses and humans, Andy runs a busy clinic whilst spending much of the year traveling to treat both riders and horses and international shows and competitive events.
Andy is one of the pioneers of trigger point therapy for horses and is one of the most highly regarded teachers in this area of practice.
Andy regularly works on the sets of film and TV shows, as a Certified Animal Safety Representative, on behalf of the American Humane Society.

Thank you...my poor Henry seems more and more stiff everyday. I did try this today and he fliched in several places. I was concerned that I was pissing him off, but by the second round, he sighed, tooted and leaned into me. Whatever I was doing, he liked. Hope I can do a better job tomorrow. I get massage regularly for inoperable spinal injury. I try to do deep breathing with him in the hopes he follows my lead. I know it's probably silly, but I just want him to have a happy senior life.

Ahh I really miss massaging horses ( due to my arthritis) they are great at telling you where the problems are, & it’s so satisfying to see a horse visibly change during a treatment

Love your videos for horses. Wish you would put more up for dogs and their trigger points. I imagine they're pretty much the same.

Thank you. I normally feel intuitively where it's sore, but I need to practice the massage.

I did this to a trotter today with much success. When I first did the grab and push movement on the withers, she leaned gently into me. I was helping her! I moved down her spine to her hamstrings. She did not like my effort with her tuber c. /hip. At the poll she moaned and slowly lowered her head. Back to school with your video.

Thank you for this info. I wonder how interesting treatment would be on Standardbred trotter or pacer in daily workout for 25 minutes/6 days per week.

Wow! There is so many cool tips I had never known before and I have been caring for horses for 43 years! I pray you can help me here. I have an 11 year old mare who has slight atrophe in her left shoulder. There is nothing really wrong with her but the muscles are a bit smaller. I am thinking it is because the last owner kept her as a pasture pet when prior to that she was a halter champion twice! I plan on conditioning her in the spring and try to build up that muscle again. Can you suggest a daily regimen of treatments and exercises/massages.ect for her? Right now, I am massaging the muscle-growundwork-then stretches before riding but I want to be sure she doesn't lose any more muscle mass.

Thank you for caring about horses. Is there something you can put on, or tools that you can use on the horse that makes massaging easier? I find that my hands get tired.
