Reading the comments here reminds me of something that I often point out to clients (I'm an attorney) who are involved in protective order matters with a significant other. The difference between a person's actions being deemed as creepy or harassing versus romantic and charming is how they are perceived by the recipient. My point being that had this not had a tragic ending, it might very well be considered a fairytale love story. Just some food for thought.
