Trimming Clips in GoPro Player

There isn't much documentation on how to do the trim function, so I figured this out on my own and I'm sharing this.

Thank you for this. I download the player and used it to trim and save in the codec I wanted. I have Gigabytes of raw bulk video from underwater cameras. Often I only need 10%, the rest is trash. Microsoft photos will no trim large files sizes. This is the perfect fast player / trim app. This will save me hundreds of GB of space and time.

Is there not a way to remove the selection from the video? I don't want to export the trimming. I want to delete it and keep the rest.

How do I clip and make multiple cuts... a little here and a little there to cut out moments I don’t like? Making one big cut is more or less useless.

Exactly what I am asking about mate it's simply unusable without this functionality, especially with 360 videos

How do you get it to delete the trimmed part from video? It creates a new trimmed document! It doesn't cut out that part! I end up with a copy of what I want to get rid of!

As far as I can tell, GoPro Player only allows you to keep the selected footage, not delete it. So you have to work in reverse - select the part of the video you want to keep; when you trim and click on Create New Trimmed Document, it opens up a new window that has deleted the part you don't want. (Hope that made sense...) It's not great but it does work. If someone knows a way to select and delete, please post it here.

Not totally clear which part is the one that gets trimmed away, the one with cleared section of the "filled" section ?

The "filled" section is what you keep.

@@deandrake I found out. A cool trick was using a metadata injector app to inject metadata into the rendered result that enabled KZfaq recognizing the result as 360 that can be navigated with that control top left on screen. Why is that not integrated into the GoPro Player I found it useful to be able to export with World Lock=off so that the forward pointing focus in the resulting video is always in the camera direction.

wha? please explain the terms you use. I just want to delete unwanted footage.

I just want to cut pieces out of my video and never use them again. Like cut the first 10 seconds out. Then 10 minutes in cut another 5 seconds out, and then 30 seconds later cut more of the video out. This software makes it impossible to take out little pieces of the video and keep the rest. Seems like you have to trim all the video you want, then use more software to piece them back together again.

Yeah... I wish that feature existed as well, but unfortunately it doesn't. With this tool, you can only cut out clips you want and then you can piece them together in an editor.
