I really like these cars - Ammendorf made "Kupe" (2nd class) cars from DDR. Their interior "a-la wood" is really cozy and beautiful. And they are the part of my childhood - I travelled a lot by them in 1990's - 2000's. (These cars imported to USSR and were the main Kupe cars in Russia 15 - 20 years ago yet.) ✌️from 🇷🇺🙂

As train travelling goes, there's nothing like travelling in a sturdy Russian Soviet-style coach and being served fresh tea from the onboard samovar by a friendly Russian train attendant.

Very nice train trip I didn't notice much difference between second and third class apart from that in second despite having potentially 3 others with you you do get privacy from the rest of the train whilst 3rd class is open

There are "open space" in 3rd class "Platzcart" - different of 2nd class "Kupe". And there are 54 seats in one 3rd class car, 18 more than in 2nd class (36 passengers). With the same number of toilets - 2 ☝️ And old Soviet Platzcart cars don't have air conditioning (Kupe cars have). I don't know, are it on modern Platzcarts or not... 😐 ✌️ from 🇷🇺

2nd class cars (rus купейный), You've used, were constructed in DDR (Ammendorf) in 1970-1980's:) And they are used now too somewhere in Russia:) Greetings from Moscow!

This train operates by the Kazakh rail company. Russian railways just sell tickets.

Aaahhh I thought it was more like the concept of eurocity trains, so all working together and so. Good to know :).

@@Trainviking Moreover, foreign carriers pay to Russian railways for using tracks and stations. E.g. Estonian rail company decided to cancel their line to Moscow because it was very expensive for them even though the tickets were 100% sold out. And now RZD operates that line with modern cars for cheaper price.

@@matveypavlov495 It's okay to ask money for it of course. But not like this way. Actually when I can enter St. Petersburg without a visum with the Allegro train and this train I'm planning to make a video on this as well next summer.

Trainviking you already can enter St. Petersburg on e-visa. But I was sure this regime works only for those enter Russia by plane or by car. You need to check it.

No I don't speak any russian at all. Well some simple words but not enough for real understanding. I can read the alphabet though. But I haven't got any Problems with this, also Google made if easy for me. You can buy relatively cheap SIM cards with unlimited data, so you're always online.

Another terrible Kazakh train traveling from Russia. I used to go from Novosibirsk to Almaty by Kazakh train, it is more or less the same, old-fashioned and dirty

It's definitely true you'll find better trains on many routes. But for me as a foreign tourist from Western Europe traveling the silk-road, this is also a great experience. And within Kazakhstan the trains are just really modern.
