Hello everyone and welcome to Octobers trip report! This time I'm flying back home from the States with a stopover in Manchester, flying onboard the second A330-302, G-EILA. Now I have completely the entire fleet of Aer Lingus UK, which consists of only two aircraft - G-EIDY and G-EILA. 😂 Still something though! 😁
Overall, the flight wasn't bad, with a duration of 6 hours and 25 minutes. Security at JFKs T7 was a mess with some guy nearly shouting at the TSA officer. Sure it's New York, what can you expect? 🤣 After that, I bought 14 chocolates for around $20, only because of the tin. (souvenir?) Total rip off. There was nothing really that fascinating in T7. There was an Aer Lingus lounge which I didn't know existed here but it makes sense as they fly to Shannon and Manchester daily and Dublin twice daily I believe.
Lots of variety at JFK in terms of planespotting. Managed to capture my first A380, which was nice. I got a nice picture with a B747 and an A380 in one shot which was also nice. Flight itself like any longhaul flight, quiet boring apart from the IFE. Thanks to the very low capacity there was like 100 free seats so I tried moving into 2 free seats and try sleeping but I was physically unable to as there was like zero space! 😥🤣 Either way, the crew were friendly and we arrived on-time.
