Great trip report. It’s 1st one I’ve seen for “Malta Air” by Ryanair. I wonder if they will every repaint any into the new colours. Maybe eventually. I love the random Ryanair destinations. Great opportunity to explore new places.

Aviation Fan UK Thank you so much for comment! Most of Italian routes are operated by Malta Air since the last few months, especially the ones with aircraft and crew based in Italy. Ryanair should start repainting its aircraft into Malta Air livery from next summer. I’m glad that you appreciated the rare destination! 😉

@@NikiSvaizer Ryanair will not repaint the Planes they currently have, because that is a unnecessary expense for them. But some of the new 737 MAX 8-200 will feature the Malta Air Livery

BorneanWingz I usually wait for the Black Friday offers to get the 5€ tickets and choose destinations that would allow me to spend a weekend there. Last year the same period I went to PMI for the same price. Check my video 😉

Ciao, per "passaggio" intendi la rotta? Forse Vitoria è poco conosciuta e infatti ci atterrano pochi voli (solo qualche Ryanair e voli Cargo).

@@ERDIHOXHAA Ah ok, scusa non avevo capito cosa intendessi per "passaggio". Esatto, è un passaggio poco conosciuto. Lo scopri praticamente solo se hai un volo non-Schengen e devi scendere le scale mobili, perché lì ti rendi conto di aver circumnavigato l'aeroporto camminando per tutta l'area duty free. Se hai un volo non-Schengen e sei di fretta, ti consiglio di passare lì, che risparmi almeno 5 minuti di camminata.

@@NikiSvaizer purtroppo, devo dirlo, non sono ancora maggiorenne perciò non è che possa viaggiare quando e dove voglio, però quelle volte che ho viaggiato, essendo vicino a Malpensa ho sempre usato Easyjet, British per LHR e Aer Lingus per Dublino. in realtà non mi hanno parlato proprio benissimo di Ryanair, sia per comodità che per servizi ma anche per quella "faccenda" degli atterraggi duri. però c'è anche da dire che non ho mai volato su Boeing perciò mi piacerebbe provare la sensazione di un aeromobile diverso, sempre A320 no eh, anche perché io in generale da appassionato di volo preferisco Boeing🙂🙂

Niki Svaizer Nice flight video, looks good and informativ, hope you are safe 😊👍 Why the aircraft is still painted in Ryan Air colors, as it has already the Malta Air register number: 9H-QDC Before Ryan Air had their own register number for that aircraft.. : EI-FTB As planespotters says, the aircraft belongs to Malta Air since 9th December 2019. Thanks for your comment, I’m glad that you liked it. Concerning the registration, well, if you wanna make business and you are transferring 1/3 of your 400 aircraft fleet to another AOC in a few months, I believe that the painting is the last thing you would do. Also, Ryanair is a strong brand, everyone knows it, while who knows Malta Air? I believe AvGeeks only. So there is not a big interest in giving priority to a new painting to ex Ryanair aircraft. A different story will be for brand new aircraft that will receive the Malta Air livery. Same story as Buzz. Concerning the history of this aircraft, I’ve already reported some info in the video while boarding.

Malta Air è una joint venture, ha il suo IATA/ICAO code, ma il volo rimane FR/RYR, come fanno anche SunExpress e AnadoluJet per conto di Turkish. Il volo rimane TK/THY, l'aereo ha livrea TK ma l'equipaggio è Sun o Anadolu. Entrambe hanno la loro livrea per i voli operati da loro stessi e idem farà Malta Air sui nuovi aerei consegnati a loro, mentre per il momento sugli aerei Ryan, viene applicata solo una etichetta sulla porta L1. Buzz (altra consociata di Ryan in Polonia) ha già un suo Max in livrea Buzz ad esempio, ma i voli rimarranno FR/RYR operati da Buzz. Credo sia tutta una questione di tassazione, ma Ryanair ha un suo brand che conoscono tutti, per cui prendere un volo Buzz o Malta Air che non conosce nessuno, renderebbe il volo meno appetibile.

Stefanos Yeah, in the past you could get flights even for 0.01€, then also 1,99€. But these kind of offers disappeared now and the cheapest flight you could get now is 9.99€, unless they decide to lower the price to 4.99€ for limited time of period, during low season and on particular routes.

With the amount of flights you've taken with Ryanair I'm sure you will know now that the seat belt going on is usually for the flight deck to go to the toilet. They put the seatbelt sign on and a member of Cabin crew goes in the flight deck while the Pilots use the toilet. They brought this in after the intentional Germanwings crash

Ciao, grazie per questo filmato. Nella mia ignoranza pensavo fosse stagionale il collegamento, o probabilmente è stagionale ma da Bologna. L'aeroporto di Bergamo, è davvero una chicca: moderno ed efficiente. Anche io faccio la ricerca della vecchia immatricolazione per capire se è "Sky" Che tu sappia sta andando avanti il trasferimento degli aerei a Malta Air in questo periodo, o aspettano di capire come saranno i nuovi volumi di traffico? Per il resto che dirti l'esperienza di volo è descritta in modo semplice e autentico

Ciao, grazie a te del commento come sempre. Ryanair se operasse un Bergamo-Bilbao farebbe il pienone, ma si vede che non può o preferisce separare a 2xw per Vitoria e 2xw per Santander per coprire un bacino di utenza più grande. Bologna non mi sembra che sia collegata con Vitoria. Il trasferimento da Ryanair a Malta Air stava andando a pieno ritmo prima del lockdown. A Napoli qualche mese fa avevo visto parecchi Ryanair fermi con già le marche maltesi per cui presumo che erano fermi solo per la registrazione. Ho cercato di inserire più informazioni possibili in questo video, considerando che volare su Vitoria non è da tutti giorni, come lo è anche volare su uno Sky Interior. Grazie come sempre dei tuoi commenti, apprezzo molto! 😉

I live in Malta, and by the end of this summer it appears that all the Ryanair Aircrafts re-registered in Malta as Malta Air will start to be repainted in white and red as the Malta Air livery. I've actually flown Ryanair (Malta Air) on the routes MLA-BHX (Malta-Birmingham), MLA-BLQ (Malta-Bologna) and MLA-MAD (Malta-Madrid)

@@NikiSvaizer anytime. Ryanair as of the end of this year/next year will be Ryanair DAC, Ryanair UK, Buzz, Lauda and Malta Air. Maybe the livery change of Malta Air will be postponed due to current circumstances

@@NikiSvaizer here in Malta there are debates about the future of Air Malta, which had been facing financial issues lately and had already changed its business model. Now they are under redundancy talks for several pilots and cabin crews, while the temporaty pay for all staffers has been reduced to 1200 a month
