Eric, I have photographed over 250 old log cabins/houses which date between the late 1770s up through the 1850s on the Dicks River watershed in Lincoln county, Kentucky(USA). I have been looking closely at the old cabins and barns in your Videos and enjoy comparing the architectural characteristics with the old cabins in this area. Here some are preserved; some are in decay. Not only do I eyeball your homeland’s nature and your artwork, I eyeball the old houses and barns as well! Most of those old cabins there will rot away; thank goodness your videos and artwork preserve them visually! Allan R. Leach, Ky. USA

Hello to you Erik! It does look quite snowy! I am sure if needed the old cabin could shelter any weary traveler if need be! I am glad that that the old cabin has a place in the wilderness has it once did. There is still a charm that still resonates in this cabin, and has you look to depict this old beauty, we all can respect your ability to take time, and understand what was once a special place to the owners that left for what ever reason, as it still stands, and is appreciated! Seen this split cabin on a previous video, left hand room not to bad whereas right hand chimney and interior decaying but work from a bricklayer and carpenter would renovate cabin easily.

Fantastisk att det finns så mycket övergivna stugor som är tillgängliga som skydd för väder. Den såg ändå ganska välbehållen ut tycker jag. Har hittat några riktigt fina utmed lederna som hålls efter och det kan vara hela skillnaden att få torka upp efter ett par dagar med regn. Tack för ännu en fin film Erik!

Wonderful sketch, Erik. Its too bad that no one kept those cabins maintained. Really just needed safe fireplaces, the rest could be viewed as rustic and used as camping spots for a small fee.
