Hi Katharine, thanks for your response. China is huge so to cover the 6 cities in 12 days it was go, go, go. Somethings on the itinerary not for me & yes the food ( I just wanted fresh ) overall good value and there were some highlights throughout the tour.

It most certainly was challenging. Long travel days - 3 bullet trains ( some of our tour group had an internal flight ). Some of the cities in between Beijing & Shanghai we could have skipped but obviously included so to break up the travel days.

Yes it was a very busy tour time table. Some of the places we went to not really worth it, but starting in Beijing & Ending in Shanghai we needed to travel a long way. I do also like to do my own thing but I came, I saw what I needed to so tick to China. Enjoy China when you go

Hi Lynda, As soon as I returned from China I’d read yes there would be Visa changes but wasn’t sure when. It will make it easier from travel. I was a little worried about side of things prior to my trip heard it was difficult ( but it was but wasn’t) but good for future travels. Thanks for tuning in.

@@lyndapark6971 Trip a deal have some great 2 for 1 packages & this one for 2 is an absolute bargain- flights & accommodation included you couldn’t really do it yourself for that price so value is great but tour time tables are strict with not much free time.

Hi James. We had 4 different tour leaders throughout. We did 3 bullet trains and that’s where change over happened. They get you to the Bullet train the new tour leader was waiting at the other end. Hot tip at the other end you use your passport to exit the train station ( that’s your ticket ) Apart from that slight misunderstanding we were fine as a group with change over of leaders. Hi. I think it was more to do with the hot weather & getting on & off the bus in the aircon. Maybe a combination of the different food ( apparently they use different oils for cooking so I was told) Plus in Beijing we got stuck in a storm ( we/I got soaked ) & I felt the shiver down my back & that’s when things got worst. In saying that you might be fine. Fresh fruit not much in the breakfasts & in shops even a banana was hard to find I’d say do the tours if you want - I did them all except one ( cos I’d run out of cash ). You don’t need to do them all 1) the golden mask one - you’ll just have to wait while others do it 2) Hutong pedicab ( every one did it I think ) 3) Kung Fu ( a full day to yourself if you want ) 4) Canal Cruise ( every one did it 5) acrobatics show ( we end up at hotel before the show 6) 1/2 day Shanghai ( everyone did it) 7) night cruise I didn’t do it ( I just waited but walked myself to the waterfront for 45 mins - met back at the bus) -The commercial shops - you can wait outside-so yes you don’t need to go in but if you have will power you can go in for a little look

You will need internet to use your payment app and yes I used the weipay which worked fine. I did take a credit card but it was only accepted in the big places ( the kick back places accepted our credit card of course-they were larger purchases) There were several groups doing the tour maybe 5-6 groups at the same time. Our group there were 33 of us. Ages ranged Mid 20’s - Late 60’s but mostly I’d say 40’s to 50’s in our group. Thanks for watching & enjoy your trip.

We stayed at the following accommodation: Beijing Chun Hui Yuan Resort Metro Park Xi’an Huan Yu Hotel Aloft Zhengzhou Shangjie Hotel Suzhou Suyuan Hotel Holiday Inn Hangzhou Airport Zone Radisson Exhibition Center Shanghai The one in Beijing was my favourite with the hot spring. The Zhengzhou my least favourite. But overall comfortable for the limited time at each place and of course the price for the tour is good value & the accommodation is most certainly not back packers. In our group there were 33 from all around Australia & NZ a good bunch of people. And yes I recovered but it took me a few good days.

Yes flight included checked luggage. While I’m not 100% limit we had just under 20kgs came back with 23kgs. Southern China - apparently on the way back you get more as the Silk Factory if you want to buy there silk quilt package and you get a free suitcase & there’s also markets where you can buy stuff in Shanghai. I’m not really a big shopper just a fridge magnet will do me.
