We are so proud of all our veterans. Its a disgrace that governments says it cares but in reality their actions show they couldn't give a toss. God bless all our veterans.

Veteran of 23 years service on Armour. I joined to defend our society and way of life from the soviets in 1985. I never had a problem with being deployed anywhere I believed that the government sent us cause it was justified, legal and in defence of our society. My issue started after I left and I got curious about the war on terror which did not make any sense even with the reasons the government gave us. We lost so many and accomplished what? I have nothing but love for my fellow veterans but nothing but disdain for politicians and hatred for bush/Blair.

I'm glad someone is proud to be British and stand up for us. Anyone would think patriotism was illegal these days. Without people like him, we'd all be speaking German under a jew-killing dictator, but I'm sure there's someone trying to rewrite that part of history in Oxford right now.

He’s a hero but he fought in wars that did not need to be fought and he lost limbs fighting against people who had no threat against our king, country or the people in it. It is not the fault of him or any person in the armed forces but instead the politicians above who send the people of this country off to fight and die in meaningless wars that are not fought for freedom but instead for oil and maintaining the west’s global hegemony over other less well off nations. This man is an absolute hero but the cause he fought for was not at all heroic and many veterans are very aware that the west was the evil force in the Middle East

This is a incredibly HONORABLE man. But I wonder 🤔 if he ever asked himself why go to Iraq & Afghanistan? b/c these two countries never attacked your homeland. How many invasion armies come from these countries?

The greatest respect to that man and his audience. I try to keep an eye out closely at these university events; both here and across the pond. It is particularly the latter which has me worried; were it seems to be the case American students are entitled, disrespectful, and refuse to understand the concept of debate. This worries me as quite so often, American society is the tail that wags the body of British society. In this brief clip, it appears this not to be the case, for which I am very grateful. Students and audience member a like who believe that they should not fight for King country (something that I personally do not agree with) still possess the class to applaud this man, a standing ovation no less, for his personal sacrifice, even if the man in question disagrees with the notion. I applaud everyone in the room for their respect, most notably the president who was first to rise, and for the speaker, for his service to our wonderful country.

This is sad, sad, propaganda. Sad that a man would suffer for something unrelated to king, country or the people in the room, but to believe in error that he did. Giving him a standing ovation is a kind gesture but in many ways, after stating what he did, it makes things worse, not better. The emotive aspect of his presentation tipped the scales of a debate that lost itself in the Question. If Henry Kissinger could say, that "Military men are dumb, stupid animals to be used as pawns for foreign policy" then it is even worse when the foreign policy is written by a nation other than your own, or a corporate entity. Israel being a chief candidate for such Nation. Oh the valient IDF set such a fine example left from this debate. 1 000 000 died in Iraq with this "king and country" being the illegal aggressor and instigator of war. no triple amputees being paraded here from the women and children placed in harms way by men who proudly did that killing and maiming for their corrupt king (queen) and country. The youngsters in this room cheering this on are of the age that would go to fight, except made ignorant of the reality yet seduced with the age old promise of adventure. only the PTSD inflicted on the guilty in the maturing years might cure them of this misplaced concept of valor and honour. So many of these soldiers end up turning professional and working for private military companies who have to constantly change their names to escape the shame of what they have done and continue to do by and in concert with the corporate festering King and Country kabal we call modern government. Soldiers are stripped of their right to conscience so they will obey. such men, without conscience cannot argue for being morally right because the faculty is laid bare. only a defector can do so. Mark Ormrod is a brave man. He has certainly made the ultimate sacrifice for his King and Country/Kingdom/United Kingdom. It is impossible to use logic and reason to argue against a man, a human being, a father of a little girl when the emotional appeal trumps all other arguments to deal with reality. He was injured in Iraq. Iraq or Saddam Hussein who were accused of making weapons of mass destruction by the George W. Bush administration and verified by the Tony Blair administration. Of course, if you actually visited Iraq or Iran or Saudi Arabia or Kuwait or Egypt these are societies who are pre-industrialized. They do not have the social structure nor have they evolved to the point where they can build modern weapons of mass destruction. It is still the USA and the UK (and their NATO allies) who are true modern industrialized societies and have the capability to make weapons of mass destruction. No weapons of mass destruction were found in Iraq. But the USA and the UK have petroleum producing companies who are known to have taken crude oil from Iraqi oil wells. There are key cabinet members of the Bush administration who were active or former high ranking executives in petroleum refining companies and weapons manufacturing companies. While this does not prove any collusion between US and UK governments with fossil fuel refining or weapons manufacturing companies, it also does not look good. After the attack on Iraq and regime change by the US and her NATO allies the terrorists organization of the region seem to gain more support in the Middle East and North Africa. It seems that attacking Iraq and replacing the Hussein's regime on false pretenses created more anti-Western sentiments in the region and resulted in the devastating injuries suffered by an honorable English warrior serving Queen and Country. The USA and the UK have open societies with elected officials. The people of the USA and the UK cannot claim they led into a war where many people suffered because of a totalitarian government. The people of a democratic republic has to accept some responsibility for the actions of its society. The only way we can do the right and honorable thing is to have open debate is to questions distortion of the truth, I.e. lies. Mark Ormrod is an honorable man who is willing to sacrifice himself without question. Is that what a democratic republic is? If so then ideas of accelerated western civilization ahead of everybody else on this planet mean nothing. The USA should give up its sovereignty and follow Charles III of England. The UK should give up parliament and put Charles III back on the throne of England with the absolute power to rule as King. Because King is Country. As Charles the I of England said during his trial by Parliament, "I am England." The people of the UK only serve the King. Wake up America and England for you have the right to vote. To use reason and logic to guide governance. Do not let blind emotion direct your action.
