NOTE: You will need 22 strips for Jenny's Tiny Dresdens quilt.
We have a new tradition here at Missouri Star: Triple Play! Once a month, Jenny, Misty, and Natalie each demonstrate their own, unique take on a favorite block, technique, or template. This week these talented Doan ladies are showing off three adorable dresden projects.
Jenny's Tiny Dresden quilt is made with twenty-two 2.5 inch strips (jelly rolls) and 5 inch squares (charms) of precut fabric. Jenny's fabric is Shadow Play 2.5" Strips by Maywood Studio (a Missouri Star exclusive!) and Bee Backgrounds 5" Stackers by Lori Holt for Riley Blake. Other supplies include Fusible Featherweight Interfacing for Pellon, the Missouri Star Mini Dresden Template, and a Missouri Star Bamboo Creaser Tool. Jenny also whipped up and quick and easy pillow using her extra pieces, and it is so cute!
Misty's Fancy Dresden Fans is made with 5 inch squares of precut fabric (charms). Misty's fabric is Gingham Gardens 5" Stackers by My Mind's Eye for Riley Blake. Missouri Star Large Dresden Plate Template for 10" Squares
Natalie's quilt is made with 10 inch squares of precut fabric (layer cakes). Her fabric is Bliss Bold and Bright Digitally Printed Tiles by Northcott FabricsMissouri Star. This is a foundation piecing project, so she also used 10" Paper Piecing Squares.
QUILT SIZES:
Jenny's Tiny Dresden (49" x 58")
Misty's Fancy Dresden Fans (75" x 75")
Natalie's Improv Dresden Geese (54" x 64")

I thought at some place in Misty's portion something was mentioned about a pattern. I think I could do Jenny's without some instructions but the other two, I would need some help. I saw nothing under the video. Did I misunderstand? I love all three and never have made a dresden! I need to get busy.

Your video's are so much fun, and chatty, and with all of you talking and pitching in, it really helps the day go by. I can watch/listen while I work, and I don't feel so alone : ) Of course, I wish I were sewing,, but I'll get to later. Thanks for being such a great group!! PS... Hiya. The best way to make the plate lie flat is to make a quarter and then square the inner edges to 90 degrees. Then when you sew the quarters together you’ll get a pretty flat plate.

Wow! I love 3s.😊 Jenny's quilt is so happy. Love repeated designs in happy colors. Misty has a very arty quilt. Ive been dying to do that design in A Needle Pulling Thread magazine. I just cant find fabrics like in the pictures so I think I'll try Misty's version. And, Natalie, double wow. It does look like peacocks going through the wild. If you put that on your wall, it wouldnt matter what else was in the room. Visitors would just be in awe of it. You girls rock!
