Thanks Gordon! It has been a bitter sweet thing to watch my woodworking machinery go but, as soon as I look at the cash and think about how I can afford the next component in this restoration journey, it makes it worth it. Pulling that engine was SCARY. I kept thinking about how the heck I was going to put it back in but I figured I'll cross that bridge when I get to it!

Thanks Heather!! Well, you are an inspiration, too! I am still hoping you'll do a video on restoring chrome! I will definitely be needing to do that. I think my bumpers are beyond hope, though.

Thanks Gary! Yes, my shop is my happy place. I mentioned to another member how bittersweet it is to sell my woodworking machinery but how it's all worth it when I see that cash I can spend on my bug!

Trish -- great video. Thank you (and Slade). Your workshop areas are to die for!! Like you, I sold my '69 Beetle (second owner, too) and I still regret it, 43 years later. As you said, "I did not appreciate what I had". But, unlike you, I haven't acted on it! Maybe I will (maybe I had better!)..... Best wishes on the project!

Thanks Superbear!! Love that name! Yes, do it! It is so much fun. Usually I just want to complete a project and the journey there is sorta fun. With this, I LOVE the process! I think I'll just want to take on a new project once I'm done with Mr. Freckles because I'm having so much fun. PLUS, I'll know so much more the next go around!

I thought the same about my flooring but after removal of the tar paper i found several pinholes from rust. and my car was not as bad on the heater channels like yours is.
