I'll be honest, I seriously doubt Trisha had any plans legitimately let that Dakota fan of hers attend the wedding. The "invitation" looked SO SIMILAR to that invitation towards Nikocado to collaborate .. before she ghosted him and called him a stalker. Lol. Trisha never told Dakota the when and where of the wedding, or the dress code. She was never getting through the door and, sadly, got her hopes up.

I hunt and eat/use fur from animals I harvest. Animal cruelty is keeping animals in cages their entire lives before killing them. The rabbits I harvested had one bad day.. and it lasted seconds or was a straight kill. There’s a difference in that and Cardi B buying 70 leather purses made from animals who suffered months or years to make her overpriced bag.

In 2021 white ppl are cruel to animals if we own fur but if someone is a different ethnicity it’s ok and “preserving their culture”. My roots are Nordic and I own fur from animals I hunted/harvested and I thank them for the food and warmth they provide my family. Smartphones contain animal products so is that animal cruelty? The thing that really makes the rabbit chairs deplorable is that they're not even going to be used. They're purely to satisfy the whims of a narcissist. It's unlike a leather bag that will get a shit ton of use over the years, or beef or chicken meat feeding a person or even an entire family. It's purely for decoration, just like mounted stags and other hunted trophies.

i’m a rabbit owner, and while i don’t have an issue with rabbits being raised for meat, fur is another story. fake fur is readily available and can be obtained without cruelty or destroying domestic animals. at least with rabbit meat, it’s being consumed, feeding someone. this is just death for the sake of shitty decor.

On a side note, as someone who takes courses on eco-friendly art and design, fake fur is actually very harmful to environment. They are basically really thin plastic made to look like hair. And just like any other plastic, they won’t dissolve and will start to pollute the ocean. Seasonally hunted fur is actually a lot more eco-friendly than fake fur! That being said, it certainly does not necessarily justify Trisha’s usage of it, as it is a one time decor that probably won’t even be used much.

The majority of polutions in the ocean is from fishing industries. I agree there should be more eco friendly furr alternatives but killing animals for it ain't it. It's needless killing for decoration or a coat. I wouldn't justify slaughtering animals for fur because it happens to be more eco-friendly... Animal agriculture is one of the largest poluting things in this world and not just for the ocean. Any form of buying dead animals or their byproduct is supporting climate change progression.

@@kaz1819 Well, plastic doesn't break down simply put. As a biochemist, even if you're dealing with "biodegradable" plastics, they take months to break down in industrial facilities. There's non-harmful ways to make faux fur, but that's even more expensive. I'm totally against fake fur stuff unless it's something I'll be able to use for years just because of the impacts - Once it's plastic, you can't turn that shit back. I don't own any furs but if I were to, there are ways to ensure that they respect the animal by making use of all of the meat as well.

I'm not just strictly referencing the furr used but the entire exploitation of animals. I could go into how it is terrible for the environment if you requested but I'll save writing a novel on this comment. I disagree about using animals at all. I don't think because you use all the meat and not just the furr that its respecting the animal. Either way that animals life has been taken and money has went toward the huge industry that supports deforestation, world hunger, water wastage, large carbon emissions, ocean pollution and so much more. Honestly, there were no reasons to use real fur. Like im okay with using it in terms of keeping yourself warm if you live in very cold places (animal fur is actually used in a lot of countries - but at least with some respect to nature). So I really don't understand why would she use it for decorative purposes. This is so wrong!

Not everyone can stay healthy without eating meat, but everyone in the modern world can live without fur accessories. I think that's the reason why most people frown upon torturing or killing for fashion or cosmetics.

Rabbits don't have to be electrocuted to keep their fur for stuff like that. I actually imagine that would make the fur nonviable. They're skinned. Not that it makes a difference in the grand scheme of things but I thought I'd throw it out there 😬

I decided to look it up because I was curious and slightly horrified by the entire subject. Not thrilled by what I found, either. "To preserve the pelts, animals on fur farms are killed by gassing and head-to-tail electrocution. Fox and raccoon dogs are generally electrocuted through the mouth and anus; a method with potential to inflict severe pain and distress on the animal." Depending on the breed, Rabbits are also tied to tables and plucked/shaved several times a year if they don't need the full pelt. The above forms are used when they need to kill them. Just .. horrible and unnecessary.

Rabbits killed for their fur aren't processed the same a meat rabbit. I did a quick search and Google informed me that meat rabbits are killed around three months old while fur rabbits are killed around six months old, so the meat on the rabbits used in Trisha's chairs would not have gone to a market

I don't think there's an issue with using fur as long as it is ethically sourced (i.e. the rabbits are already being used for meat)... Im not ok with the killing of animals just for fur, or fun... But I do believe that if we take the animals life, we should use as much of the animal as possible.

You have a point. But are rabbits really that present in the market? How many people out there are buying rabbit meat at their local store? Most people I've met that have had rabbit meat before either hunt it, or illegally breed them in their backyard.... Anything else gets thrown out

@@DankSouls37 I dont know where you're from, but in NZ, it's quite a popular item on restaurant menus. And just like possums, people will often hunt them since they're a pest and the fur is quite popular. I guess it all depends on where your from and how you were raised. Growing up for me it was normal to go out on the farm, shot a rabbit and stew it. Again, depends on upbringings and opinions. But they're fucking tasty, just saying 😂

Here in Brazil, only the most cowboy-ish men even think about eating rabbit meat, and it's still very frowned upon (at least in my region, my country's huge lmao). I think it’s more to do with bunny owners seeing their pets being made into furniture in general, I’m not a vegetarian by any means, I do eat meat and was raised by my country grandparents who ate rabbit stew even back in their prime, but I own a pet lop bunny and I genuinely see her as my little fur baby just like someone who sees their dog or cats the same way, a lot of people have a misconception that pet rabbits are the equivalent to hamsters and aren’t as much of a “real pet” in comparison to dogs and cats etc. so it’s upsetting seeing their fur being used for furniture… from a pet owner standpoint it’s almost like seeing someone use REAL dog or cat fur & using their fur for some chairs that look distasteful and most likely will never be used. It just breaks a pet owners heart thinking about how the process is done and the unfortunate way real fur/leather/wool is processed instead of a top quality faux replacement :(
