@@Riyas11_ after rohit retires i see brevis opening the innings and stubbs will replace david,finishing is the hardest job u can't put an youngster in that kind of pressure alone, stubbs will soon come good and eventually replace david who needs to improve his spin game.

@@Riyas11_ they played stubbs even this year before brevis, they do know his potential last year they dropped david after two games but later on when he came back he was electric. Next year he will get 4-5 matches.

Will Smeed has got to be up there somewhere. Young English batsman. Plays for Somerset, debuted in 2020 and made 89 on debut. Was the 2nd highest scorer for Somerset in 2021 despite only playing half of the season (after Tom Banton who played the entire season). 2nd highest scorer for Somerset (but had two of the highest totals for the team with 94* (44) and 98 (47), ) only behind Rilee Rossouw (who was 2nd highest scorer of the competition). In 2022, he debuted for England Lions agaimst South Africa in a One Day match, where he scored 90 from 50 balls in his first taste of semi-international cricket. Later that summer, he played in the hundred and became the first cricketer to hit 100 in The Hundred competition. He was the 5th highest scored in 2023 Vitality Blast, despite playing in the worst form of his career for the first half of the season. Including 98 from 35 balls against Gloucestershire. He has also played in a variety of t20 overseas competitions, and has succeeded and always been signed on for another season.

Selection process is s**t in SA, there's no surprise about that. SA I believe has the most talented players but they all end up playing for other teams.

Playing T20 and performing well should not be used as an indicator that player is good. I think that's the thing which many teams do nowdays and that's why these player have a very short career. I think to be selected in any national team one should definitely have performed good in domestic cricket specially in domestic test match series.
