The videos are fascinating in themselves just for the wealth of information they convey - who, what, why, how, when and where, answers to all these questions. While I enjoy this, what I like most is Tristan's very evident joy in life, in his work and his play, in his friends and his surroundings. I hope (and I would pray, were I given to prayer) that he never loses this joy, that life and work don't beat it out of him and leave him a bitter, cynical, husk of a human being. Good to see you have things more or less sorted out. Yeah so Christmas Day and Easter are usually the 2 days you may not move in or out of a dwelling, although there may be also other days depending on which Bundesland you live in. The there are also other restrictions for not doing certain things at certain times of the day or on Sundays. You need to check with the local Einwohner Amt for what ever those may be. Although your school may have an International Student Liaison Office that can also give you the same information. The YT v log Easy German also has a few things there to help you learn more about German Customs and Culture. I think what your Mother sent you was a humidity meter to determine the moisture content of the soil in your potted plants. Always remember a plant can tolerate drought conditions far better than over watering...which leads to root rot! Your plants have a natural wisdom when it is time to grow and when it is time to become dormant. Often times this is due to the amount of sunlight they get and the changes in temperature. I divided out my Monstera about 6 weeks ago and both plants are doing well. My Jade Tree is going to get a pruning and I'll have about 2 offsets to plant. It was a small shriveled plant I bought it and the first thing I did last September was to replace the 2 inch pot it was in, into a 6 inch pot and use the basic potting soil with some small gravel. I may try a Bonsai scheme for one of the offset Jade Trees later this year. Al l of my 3 Aloe Vera Plants have multiple offsets and need to get transplanted as well. Lastly someone is using your name on Tumblr, don't know if it is you or not. You may want to check it out for your professional reputation's sake. I keep finding pics of you on my dashboard every now and then.

I really do like the modern looks of your kitchen but you are correct that newer apartments here in America are really nice as well. My favorite are the ones with brush aluminum appliances and dark red mahagony cabinets. And yes, dish washers, washing machines and clothes dryers are standard fair in newer apartments in the US. But no so much that way 30 years ago. Back then Germany was way more modern than the US.

little plant tip :) I’d recommend liquid fertilizer that you simply mix into the water you give them, these sticks are fine for beginners but the liquid one is better in my opinion oh and I LOVE THAT NEW APPARTEMENT!

I remember the first time I went to Germany, I thought everything was just so beautiful (especially compared to New Zealand where I’m from where everything is new and doesn’t have the character European cities have).
