Why all the angst? You're riding a motorcycle on a beautiful day. Enjoy it. If you don't like the bike, say so and end the video. Otherwise, ride and be happy.

Triumph definitely has some nostalgic paint schemes and looks. Every week, when I think I've seen it all, Cal Moto rolls out another Triumph just to screw with me in making a decision as to which bike to buy next. Lol They've captured the essence of riding 50 years ago and yes I'm old enough to remember those good old days. The best part of the vids is your narration Cal!

2015 Triumph Bonneville Newchurch. Picture credits - Triumph. Submit more pictures. More pictures... This special-edition model is named after the small town of Neukirchen in Austria, which changes its name to Newchurch each year to celebrate all things British for the weeklong event.

In my considered opinion (having ridden a number of Triumphs and having studied their branding and marketing strategies for a number of years now) I would suggest that the colour of that motor bicycle is nice. In fact it's really nice. It's not as nice as the Diablo Red but it's nicer than some other reds out there. "The Triumph Bonneville Newchurch Edition - because the colours are nice". Love the crack story - if only that were true- the world would be a better place!

The Crumble My issue with Triumph is the function of a severe case of SIMV (sand in my vagina) and a dislike of the current management and their strategy of superficial band aids, ridiculous celebrity attachments, and over the top social marketing. That said, the bikes are beautiful in their own right; no one does it better. I'm really looking forward to the next generation SP3; I just hope they can step up their game and maintain their core competency at the same time. They need an investor if they expect to keep up with Ducati, KTM , & BMW. Plus, if they learned one thing from H.D., it should be how to make a proper commercial. X

Based on the article "Triumph Bonneville prototype spied with liquid cooling" perhaps overdue changes are coming.

There will always be a place for the low tech parallel twin its Been around since 1937 a timeless design. They just look so cool' park that bike almost anywhere and someone will talk to you about it and you can't say that about most modern bikes. The best bike in the world on a sunny afternoon to go to the pub on.

Yeah, I mean Triumph is really putting the pressure on with these special editions. New one every week! That being said, they all look awesome, so the only thing a potential bonnie customer has to weigh is: Do I want to spend that extra cash for the way it looks? They all look really good, especially that ace cafe thruxton, holy shit, but I think that differs for ever person. I'd personally buy a base and make it my own...but those special editions look pretty bad-ass.

Hi there I have the same bike but added leather saddlebags, lower type windshield and TOR exhaust. Its like you dont like your bike and you should. I get compliments all the time whether gassing up or going to a pub. Im sure you must get the same. It is my first Triumph but I sure feel its special, I get lots of compliments on the red metalic paint too. Im in Canada and there are only 25 sold in this country part of hte reason I bought it. Anyways hope you are enjoying your bike more, I really love mine, in partucular with the TOR exhuast, it really sounds nice as it goes through the gears and backfires. Happy riding!

I own a 2006 T100 and I love it. .. I love the Triumph brand but honestly, you're right. It's like Triumph is stuck in neutral. They need to reconfigure the Speedmaster and the America to have larger engines and if there is going to be a "special edition", bonneville it should include a more powerful engine at the very least.

If it helps you any, my perspective is totally from a different angle, I'm almost 40 years old and have raced cars for years (road course), and I'm on the market for my first ever bike; and at least for the newbie like me, all these different models or flavors offer options that inspires one to get into two wheels; so if you love the hobby at large, at least you can appreciate Triumph is gaining some new believers into the motorcycle world, and that's great for the hobby at large. So don't forget to look at things from the perspective of newbies, for we were all newbies at everything once :).

Cal Moto - as the owner of a 2005 Triumph Bonneville T100 "Creamsickle" I feel I must comment on this post, after all, you invited us to! Dude, I have to agree with most of the sentiment here. I love my bike but I think instead of pricking around with paint schemes and silly little code names that no-one cares about (ie. T214 - wtf?) a proper set of forks, rear shocks and a double disc front wheel would be the way to go. None of these differences would spoil the aesthetics in my opinion, and while they're at it, a proper seat wouldn't hurt (literally). Finally, they should replace that fucking hideous rear lamp with a modern LED version of the pretty, late 1960's US Export cast aluminium one. I like your humour and bitterness, you reminded me of an American version of myself. Best of luck mate and keep these great reviews coming please!

You are right, far too many specials that are not special! Having said that, I just bought a NewChurch! Might have done better if you commented a little on the brakes and suspension which are both challenged to say the least! The bike is or was built to a price point and although I like them I can tell they cut corners. No worries here, as it will be modified in due course to suit me. I bought it to mod!

If the "spy pics" are any indication, the 2016 Bonneville should provide a different experience other than new colors. Liquid cooled engine, dual-disc abs brakes, etc. Hopefully we'll also see an increase in power (likely), some much needed weight reduction (unlikely), and doing away with that stupid, fiddly fake carburetor knob (very unlikely).

so right... Triumph need to wake up... I want one... but waiting to see what 2016 brings.... yawn...

@denisrousseau90718 жыл бұрын
Welll you are all wrong with the Newchurch edition origins, Nothing to do with crack's story and dope and houses and a guy. It come from the Neukirchen, Austria circuit who have been renamed back then to Newchurch moto ring or circuit grand prix! It is a tribute to Newchurch grand prix circuit like the Truxton is one tribute for the Truxton's track in England!

You need our opinions? OK. Compared to the 650cc Amal-carburetted Bonneville of the sixties and early seventies, the bike seen here has lost about 60% of its soul and has become a pseudo-japanese workbike. Not even OK for just getting around on because its like an elephant. Way too long, too wide, and too heavy. Not the least bit like an actual Bonneville, and shouldn't be wearing that name. If you happen to be a huge person who just wants a fairly boring but efficient work bike, it would do. P.S. American export handlebars are too high and wide (always have been silly compared to the British handlebars).

Cal Moto Agree that Triumph North America is run by idiots. Owned a 2011 Bonne SE that developed a random no-start problem. Corporate refused to acknowledge the problem and dealers couldn't fix it so on to Craigslist it went.
